Kia has delivered 200 units of EV6 in India since its launch in June 2022, which is twice of what the brand had initially allocated. Kia India is now working to increase the total allocation for 2022 in order to complete the pending deliveries before the year ends. Kia EV6 had received 355 bookings ahead of its launch, which is remarkable for a niche electric vehicle in India costing well-above 60 lakh rupees. The company expects that EV6 will become a common sight on Indian roads in near future. Although there’s no doubt that Kia EV6 is one of the finest and good-looking EVs in segment, but it remains to be seen whether these numbers turn out to be initial euphoria or a steady long-term trend. Keeping in mind, especially, that for a slightly higher price are EVs by perceivably premium brands while in the lesser budget, entrants like BYD are making a breakthrough with their products. Not to forget, Hyundai is all-set to introduce locally assembled Ioniq-5 in India soon. Kia has also shown its intent to locally manufacture electric vehicles and a made-in-India Kia EV is already confirmed to launch in 2025.

Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said “The EV6 is considered to be amongst the most sophisticated products by Kia ever and is a demonstration of our technological prowess and capabilities. At the launch of EV6, amid the very positive response received, we had promised our customers to bring in more units of the EV6, over and above the initially allotted 100 units for 2022.” He added, “Going forward, our focus will be on completing the deliveries of all the existing and new bookings at the earliest. The EV6 made electric mobility a fun and joyful experience for our customers, and I am confident that the EV6 will be a common sight on Indian roads in the upcoming days.”
