Thats humongous. Kia are definitely on the roll. Should be doing close to 4K copies a month.
One bummer I feel is 180 mm unladen means once the car is full with 3m Wheel base, it must scrap every where.

At the 2020 Auto Expo in Greater Noida, Kia has launched the Carnival MPV. Base variant is priced at Rs 23.95 lakh and the top variant is priced at Rs 33.95 lakh. All prices are ex-sh.

Carnival will be used more as a brand building exercise to shape perceptions that Kia has capabilities to produce premium vehicles. But in spite of that, Kia has seen a strong demand for the Carnival. Even before launch or price reveal, Kia Carnival bookings in India have crossed the 3,500 mark. Below are the variants and their respective prices.

Powering Carnival will be a 2.2-litre BS-VI compliant CRDi engine that generates max power of 202 hp and max torque of 440 Nm. The engine will be mated to either a 6-speed or 8-speed automatic transmission. Manual transmission option could be launched at a later date.

Kia Carnival TVC video gets played backwards – Stay Home to Fight Corona Virus

The marketing team of Kia Motors India definitely consists of some minds who can think out of the box. They essentially rewound (or ‘rewinded’?) the Kia Carnival’s TVC which was shared earlier in February. In the original video, the lead character can be seen going for a date in his Carnival. Meanwhile, Kia Motors India’s new #RewindKia campaign plays the same video in reverse and tells viewers to stay home.

Kia India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kia Corporation has rolled out the ‘Satisfaction Guarantee Scheme’ offer for the new buyers of its extravagant MPV – Carnival, across India. Under this industry-first initiative, private owners of the luxurious car can return the vehicle if they are not pleased with the car within the first 30 days of its purchase. The company has introduced this one-of-a-kind initiative, which allows buyers to avail this new offer valid on all variants of the Carnival. It will cover 95% of the ex-showroom cost and overhead cost incurred for the registration and finances, etc. of the vehicle.

Eligible customers need to ensure that the vehicle has clocked not more than 1,500 kilometers from the purchase date and is completely free of damages, failures, pending claims, to be able to return the car. Additionally, the owner's agreement for the transfer of the vehicle including all documentation & charges etc. in the name of a person will be obligatory. It will also be imperative that the vehicle is free from any HP and the NOC should be submitted from the financer's end.

Speaking on the industry-first initiative, Mr. Tae-Jin Park, Executive Director & CSBO, Kia India, said, “Last month, we introduced our new brand purpose of inspiring consumers through products and services, and their experiences with the brand. The ‘Satisfaction Guarantee Scheme’ is the first step to bring this purpose to life and is designed to offer a differentiated Kia ownership experience to our customers, prioritizing their peace of mind during these testing times. The growing popularity of our class-leading MPV has been extremely encouraging for us and this initiative aims to enhance customer belief in Kia Carnival even further.”

Which means, this car appeals more to luxury and status segment. Innova may continue to rule the utility and lower band of status segment. The specifications are impressive with 5.5 meters length, 200+ BHP.

Kia Carnival discontinued; expected to return next year

20230620025205_20220708102206_Carnival_1 _2_.jpg

Kia has pulled the plug on the Carnival MPV in India and delisted the model from its website. A quick check with our dealer sources confirms the same, as many of them have already stopped taking fresh orders, and a handful of unsold units are available at very few outlets. The Carnival was Kia’s flagship model in India, and was locally assembled from CKD kits.

  1. Kia Carnival not on sale in India anymore
  2. Next-gen Carnival expected here by FY2025
  3. Kia to launch Seltos facelift by end-July
