Re: Kawasaki Ninja 650R Indian Launch

Depends on what you want.

If you want to go on long tours, the Kawasaki it is.

If you want a good looking, good handling, track bike, the Hyosung it is.

The Hyosung is readily available.
The Kawasaki is sold out till the next stock comes i.e. till Diwali.

I recommend: Hyosung

Bookings to Open for the New Kawasaki Ninja 650R from15th of July 2012

Bookings for the Ninja 650R which had been closed for some while now is to be open again come this July 15th. This time its not the old one but the new 2012 version that's going to be made available in India and which has revised looks and features. The motor is the same but has been tweaked for better low and mid range performance.

The 2012 version also comes with a new twin-spar perimeter frame that should make the bike superior in terms of handling from the previous version. The upgraded Ninja might come at an increased price over the old model as has been the case in other global markets.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 650R - Bookings Reopen on 15th July

This is not a superbike to be true to all of you :)

This is a learner level bike launched in Australia. Its power was restricted in n models and the limter was to take of.
These didn't do a good job , you can buy a used one for nearly 6000 dollars ( that too in a mint condition)

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 650R - Bookings Reopen on 15th July

The 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250R also gets a new twin-spar frame. This perimeter frame is now stiffer, giving the Ninja 650R better handling. A Eco mode has been added and the Japanese automaker claims the bike will return 17.7 km/l, which gives it a range of around 330 kms on its 19-litres fuel tank. Kawasaki will not be shutting down bookings soon as the more units of this middle-weight motorcycle has been allocated to India. Bajaj will continue to assembly the Ninja 650R from CKD kits brought in from Kawasaki’s Thailand plant.

In KTM and Kawasaki we offer two of the sportiest motorcycle brands in the world through a sales and after-sales network that has been specially created to cater to the specific needs of motorcycle enthusiasts. With the Kawasaki Ninja 250R and 650 we created a category of ‘practical superbikes’ and as a result enjoy a dominant market share of more than 60% in that category.” – Mr Amit Nandi, Vice President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd
“KTM and Kawasaki areour global business partners and along with them we aim to build on our already dominant position in the sports motorcycle segment in India with the Pulsar. There are a number of initiatives in the pipeline on all these three brands that would be introduced over the next 18 months”. – Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Ltd
