Re: Japanese Masterpiece: Nissan Skyline R33 GTST Series II (Tuned)

Why is that illegal there?high decibels,eh?
BTW is that the sound of turbo spooling up?
yeah because of that blow off valve sound

In Vic only engine mod is allowed this one has about 7-8 [;)]

That sound is of the blow of valve , when we accelerate at higher Rev range (5-6 K RPM) the turbo kicks in and the boost (14psi) is there to flood the intake with lot of cold compressed air , there is certain amount that engine uses and the remaining unused is released via blow off valve too the atmosphere making the whislte sound

you can have only one engine mod that can be a pod filter thats about it

if you enclose the pod filter its legal if its open its illegal

Stock Blow off valve is legal , after market the ones that makes loud noise are illegal (they don't give you ticket for that but would ask you to remove it)

or A Frount mount intercooler thats about it.

if you put all these things , cops gona chase you down

So I have to be very careful whilest on the road

Oh,that 'pssst' sound, right? i still remember the MCM's fake mods on civic. It had a fake blow off valve too, which makes the 'pssst' sound through a speaker.[;)].

but this is ridiculous. We have everything, but still we cannot use that in the right way.[frustration]
Anyway, your car is a headturner for sure.

We have emission norms too, when we turbo a car we remove cat con etc,end of the day when you run a high boost you need petrol with a good octane rating to run it,so cant say we have everything [:)] & lets not forget our wonderful roads.

Will you be adding two woofers to the car? What amps you plugging them into?I am guessing the boxes must be well made, here in India Sony & Pioneer have lost there car audio value thanks to fakes.
What brand intercooler & turbo are you running?
Do you find intercooler sprays effective?I guess the Evos usually have them factory fit

Only one Sub not two . Other one is for my mate.
I'll be getting a 4.1 channel amp and then bridge it to get mono and 2 6x9" from it

My Turbo is by turbotenics
Intercooler not so sure man couldnt read the name cuz of limited space.

No need intercooler sprays for front mount. only for Evos /Wrx;s because they have top mount intercoolers plus they are factory

Re: Japanese Masterpiece: Nissan Skyline R33 GTST Series II (Tuned)

So In the first you see the NEAR black pod filter (full of dirt) that I had to clean ,

The boost controller was hanging , the previous owner of the car spent a lot of money on the car but not wisely.

There was hole left under pod filter that suppose to have a net that i had to make myself That hole is of the stock side mount intercooler. Since they put the front mount they didn;t bother to close this one.

I have now fixed the pod filter ( cleaned ) , cleaned AFM unit/sensor, Fixed the alarm (was hanging as well) , fixed boost controller.
I had to fix the boost as well.. damn alot of work

Let me get this right, there was another opening before the air-filter that was sucking in air(Hot air from engine bay I assume)??? If that is the case wont the engine have accumulated alot of particles.
And its a good idea to clean the sensors when cleaning the air-filter ,its sometimes possible if some cleaning agent is left in the air-filter it can coat the sensors.

Yeah it was a normal air intake box like all the other cars have. But these engines need more air intake so we replace it with the pod filter.

Hot Air doesn't matter much because the intercooler does the cooling part

so all good

I had a carburettor cleaner spray that a mechanic gave me he said spray this it will keep the sensors clean
