As adviced by Anshuman, I have called the Bajaj allianz call center and got the policy verified as it is done at their end and they have also sent me a soft copy of full renewal document by mail directly. Friends I suggest you to do the same after the renewal immediately to avoid any such problems faced by Krish_go

Relax guys, may be Maruti is alert on these frauds.
I got my ritz insurance renewed two days back, i got a call from the dealer that it is time for the renewal ,
they gave me a premium amount and i bargained and got a 500k less on the premium on same IDV,
and they asked me to wait for the direct call from maruti as the renewal is now done directly by maruti.
A guy from maruti called he gave me the policy details, i confirmed the policy and the very next day a representative from the dealer delivered the policy and gave me a receipt on the amount paid.
The very next day a guy from maruti called and re-confirmed the policy.
In short it is safe now to take the policy from maruti dealers.
Nothing wrong in re-checking the policy ourselfs, but maruti had took necessary steps to avoid these kind of malpractice so there is nothing to worry.

Yes, it is true not every dealer will be involved in scam/cheating. I had done from Bimal and Mandovi from Bangalore and Dewar's in Kolkata, did not find any issue.

Buy the policy online/directly from the insurance company office from the same insurer which has cashless tie up with dealer workshops. In that way you pay less price saving dealer/agent commission and also retain the cashless claim option.

Cheers,
Anshuman
I am planning to go for same option but I am little skeptical what if the dealer's at service station creates hassle to get my claim. This is kind of indicated by dealers themselves in their pitch. Two of my friends claimed insurance through dealer purchase and their claim was hassle free, one of them is even clueless about process but got his money. Very confused as to right process, need you inputs and experience guys.

Hmm,

Secondly buying the insurance with Bajaj online directly, if I say fresh insurance then the price was high than what the dealer was offering. The moment I say renewal and enter previous policy details, the it was shown as the policy issued thru' dealer cannot be renewed online, this must be the tie up between dealer and Bajaj to get their commission. Anyway I will check its validity details and update again
Thanks for mentioning this out, I shall surely check with my dealer on this before I decide on purchase. Additionally you need to grill the insurance guys why such issues exists, a social media bashing of them would make them correct their actions.

@nicky

But my experience dealing with the dealer(Maruti insurance-Bajaj allainz) for renewal was very simple and got the best attention and best price too. As I checked with Maruti for the document they have mailed me the soft copy and told me the original will come by post and spoke to Bajaj allianz guys giving the renewal reference, they have validated and sent a renewed policy document in complete by e-mail[:)] Yes it is always better to stick to the dealer insurance to have hassle free claims

100% Agree,
If the insurance is from the dealer, the dealer will be more responsible on the claims and the formalities for the claim,so i am with RK.
Take the insurance from the dealer and make them responsible to avail claim for us.
