Thanks for the info buddy.The car manufacturer list is alright but I am not able to believe the car list. Most of them are Audis which 1 in a million people have. The Safari should have been at the top.

Anyways, XUV5OO is indeed reputed. Not many are aware (or bothered) with the niggles of the XUV and that is evident with the sales figures.

So what we auto enthus think about the XUV is a different topic altogether.

Looking at the list I think these guys NEED to learn a lot more than meaning "reputed"

Whatever the criterion they have used, I would use the "Power of Ignorance" to great effect to ignore such reports any time they are published.

IMHO, The missing links are

1. The Swift
2. The Jazz
3. The City
4. The Passat (they have a Skoda in reputed list but no VW)
5. The fortuner
6. BMW X-series (at least one would line up here; all Q's no X is pointless)
7. Tata Safari
8. Tata Manza
9. Toyota Camry
10. Merc E class (may be C/S/ME whatever BUT at least one)

There can be more added to the list. I will take off at least 10 vehicles from their list, The goners would be,

1. Dzire
2. Ertiga
3. Omni
4. Q3
5. Xylo
6. Brio
7. Koleos
8. Micra
9. Mini
10. Reva

Damn they do have Koleos but no Fortuner. Forget reputation ask average Indian car buyer he will know Fortuner much more than Koleos. Do people even know such car is out in the market, seriously (I am not talking about us enthusiast or similar petrol heads)

The report is worth throwing in a garbage can. I wonder how Asian Age can publish that

+10000 to Raj. The list you have mentioned is very much sensible. Even I didnt knew the Koleos till I saw it in person.

IMO, the City and Civic have to be on the top.

Also we can add the BMW 3 series in the list.

Whoever compiled this list doesn't have any knowledge of the Indian Automotive Scene. How can a car be in the list of most reputed even before its launch ? Ertiga, Koleos n all those....

The list should have started with the maruti's all the way:

1. Alto
2. Zen
3. Swift
4. WagonR

Then it should've been Tata - Solely because of one machine they created 'Safari'. They got a boost to their repute with the success of Indica and its siblings in the Taxi segment. Manza's n all are growing now.

Then it should be Hyundai for the lovely cars they brought for the common man in India. Look at the range they've introduced from time to time. Everything became a success, except the high range for which they had to face stiff competition and got slapped by the tag Hyundai got 'A Common Man's car'.

Ford is the one which makes cars which are a sheer pleasure to drive but not so popular among the people until they drive it.

Fiat screwed themselves, supported by Tata, so no comments !! My most favourite though.

Most of the loved cars in India are out of that list.

That list seems to be done by a rookie who is unaware of the Indian Automotive Industry.
Audi: Except A4 nothing is the most reputed.
There's no Fortuner and Innova? Come on every kid even knows to spell them.
Micra and Brio: Are they called reputed ones?

BMW 3 series is fortunately added by them. (Refer #28).

Sorry to miss out on Civic & Innova in my list. They should be definitely included.
