Keeping in mind the sales of their present products, Fiat cannot afford to hike the prices. But still they have announced a hike up to 2% from Jan 2012. New features in Punto and especially Linea will also attract a reasonable price difference in comparison existing models. Hope Fiat gets it right.

Re: Price Hike of Cars in India (News and Updates)

I dont understand what Nissan and other companies that have increased the prices of their petrol models are going to do. If Nissan can not sell XE at 4.10 lakh then how it is going to do that at 4.13 lakh? [confused]

Just a few days ago, it was available at 3.60 lakh. Has economy suddenly improved so much that customer will pay 4.13 lakh?

I understand increase for diesel models. They are in demand. But petrol???

Update: Tata Motors has decided to increase the prices of its commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles, with immediate effect, proportionate to the increase in the corresponding excise duty announced in the Union Budget today.

Re: Price Hike of Cars in India (News and Updates)

Nope. Toyota Kirloskar has also announced price hike. Details about CBU is not yet confirmed and but will be announced soon.
A rise in excise & import duty and input costs will not be very conducive for the auto industry as the additional burden of increased duty will directly affect the buyers and hence would lead to slowdown in sales. CBU prices will also be affected on account of a rise in customs duty. We have no choice but to pass on the price increase to the consumers. The average increase in price ranges from 2 to 4%. - Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Sales and Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor
- Etios Petrol: Rs.11,500

- Etios Diesel: Rs.13,600

- Liva Petro:l Rs.9,500

- Liva Diesel: Rs.11,500

- Corolla Altis Petro: Rs.39,000

- Corolla Altis Diesel: Rs.26,500

- Innova: Rs.35,200

- Fortuner: Rs.80,000
