The front components have been identified as powerbass S-6C.
So will be going tomorrow for install in likeliness.
The cost of the setup has increased somewhat . :frustated:
hopefully the outcome should help to overcome the initial disappointment.

No setup is regular or high end as long as you are happy & satisfied with it.

Head unit :pioneer DEH-6390

Front components 2-way :powerbass S-6C Titanium

rear oval co-axial :illusion EL 693

MDF Box at the rear

total cost ~ 17k.

The outcome :Well it rattles the rear View mirrors

need to fine tune the EQ to my liking though.
Currently seems the sparkle in treble is a bit more to my liking.
Did one goof up.
Forgot to pick up the user manual

one thing i have noticed is that the speakers do not seem to run out of steam irrespective of the volume or the EQ levels.
Seems robust enough to handle more power whenever a sub and a 4 channel amp gets added.

Current estimates suggest i need to wait atleast for a year to get them added.

Pro about the installer:
its bread and cheese for them.
So no troubles in getting all things done.

its still rocking though at volume levels 10 and above. rear view mirrors rattles wtih specific EQ settings it even rattles the doors.

sound is quite filling actually and one doesnt feel anything missing in it.

pro and cons about ramie

pro :

extremely professional staff.

they were upto work when i told them who i was.

different persons for the specific job.

there was no moment when any of them were dumbfounded with the setup.

extremely efficient.[thumbsup]

ramie sir arrived late since he was stuck in a traffic jam
even then all of the service personnel had done their homework.

ramie sir involves himself in his work. he is not like the regular shop keepers who just sit at the counter and put all the onus on their staff so attention to detail is there in each assignment.

Cons

outside the limits of mumbai, so you end up paying 60 bucks regardless of an informal visit.
(toll charges nothing specific to paying to ramie).

forgot to get the service manual. so not aware how to set up FM channels in it.

this is mainly because even if i do an auto search there are 6 channels numbers assigned and current channel list exceed that limit.

there are 3 FM bands to store more channels but i still have not found a way to manually store those FM channels. [frustration]

no AUX cable provided in box

leaving cons aside i am happy with the setup.

lets see how long till i get bored of this setup and go for an upgrade.[evil]

Re: ICE For Mahindra Scorpio Vlx

Sorry for posting query in your thread , Superbad.

I thought to change the HU of my Hawk, from the crappy ones, which have started giving me troubles, the Volume lowers on its own.

So which HU do you guys suggest me, my Budget on HU would be around 12 k, including damping if required.

Currently i have 4 Hertz Components.
Two at the front and other two at rear.

Background of work done here:http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...-silver-43-000-kms-counting-25.html#post84360

Guys my questions are, While changing HU, do i need to rewire them, or use the same connection provided by M&M.

Can i get the wiring done of good quality with VMS working.

If i get the wiring done for front components, will my VMS(Voice Message System) work?

Will a good set of wiring improves sound clarity and music ???

Which HU will all you guys suggest me, i visited a shop here, they suggested a Double DIN JVC or pioneer one for 17,500/- onwards.

But after this Sunfilm ban rule, i don't feel to leave a 2 din in car.

So i am thinking to go for HU with USB, Iphone ready player.
Is the damping with dynamat required for Components.

I thought only to change HU, do i need to go for damping of doors?

Ramie's,Raj,Superbad inputs please.

Ramie i doubt will be online on our forum. He is busy all the time.
Also he is married now .all the more reasons not to be online.
If required i may provide you with his contact number.

Any decent 2 din would cost you upwards of 20k. I found some TS ones at that price Some are equipped with maps, gps too. You need to scout for options available locally.
As for damping unless you have a subwoofer in your car its not worth the price increase i feel.
Also damping might insulate the exterior noise completely with glasses up. This could be harmful during driving in cities.

The wiring given by M & M Are Good enough if you do not wish to use an amp along with it.
Your HU looks different to the ones available now.
If you would want the steering controls to work i guess you would need the oem HU coupled with a hi-low converter with \without sound processor for better sound output.

There are 2din systems available under 12k the non TS ones. Look up carplus for price and specifications.

@Superbad: Sorry for some silly questions, what is TS?

Will all 4 components gives a bass effect, or one needs to have Oval Speakers 6X9, 3way for that.

Because i have all 4 components.

Does a HU drastically changes the sound output?

Which HU would you suggest from Pioneer.
