When the disguise will come off, expect the Tucson's exterior design to “freak out” people, according to Sangyup Lee, the vice president of styling at the Hyundai Design Center. Having seen the gorgeous 2020 Sonata, we have high hopes the company’s refreshed design language will have a positive impact on the fourth-generation Tucson as well. The overhauled Tucson is expected to debut at some point next year and go on sale in the United States as a 2021MY.

India-bound next-gen 2020 Hyundai Tucson spied once again [Update]

2020-hyundai-tucson-hyundai-nx4-prototype-59e1.jpg

Update: New spy shots of the India-bound next-gen 2020 Hyundai Tucson have surfaced online. Image gallery at the end of the story updated with the new spy shots.

The all-new Tucson is being developed in South Korea and Europe and is expected to be unveiled in the second half of 2020. Though the test mule caught on the camera is mostly camouflaged, some of its design details are clearly evident. The spy shots suggest that the next-gen Tucson will carry familiar proportions. The front-end looks much more aggressive and strikingly different when compared to the third-gen Tucson. This is particularly because it makes use of Composite Light - a design comprising slim (LED) Daytime Running Lights positioned atop the (LED) headlights. Also, there are dramatic similarities between the DRL design of new Tucson and the Nexo FCV.

2021 Hyundai Tucson spied with large infotainment screen – report

qehxnladjkgmxhtks8be.jpg

Spy photos have revealed the 2021 Hyundai Tucson may be offered with a large infotainment screen.

A photo released on The Korean Car Blog website shows Hyundai could be moving towards a Tesla-like interior command screen.

The large floating tablet screen will likely be offered in top-end versions of the Hyundai Tucson range, expected in 2021. Spy photos have previously shown the new Tucson will offer a traditional button console on more affordable grades.

The large floating screen spied on the new Tucson shows touch-type buttons down the sides, and is coupled with a digital instrument cluster directly behind the steering wheel.

2021 Hyundai Tucson interior previewed in new sketch

xlchjx53cgebxvkbdc3y.jpg

A teaser sketch for the new-generation 2021 Hyundai Tucson has surfaced on an enthusiast forum, and while the company has yet to issue any word on its authenticity, it bears all the hallmarks of an official preview.

As with the below photo published in March, the sketch reveals a minimalist interior design with a centre console that extends out of the dashtop and wraps down into the lower cubby space.

A large main display is flanked top and bottom by simple vents and air-conditioning controls, while a wide rectangular instrument display dominates the space behind the steering wheel.

While not shown in the sketch, a button-based, shift-by-wire gear selector has been shown in spy photos to occupy the space left of the main cup holders.
For more on the new-generation Tucson, including concept images and spy photos of its sharp new look (think new i30 Sedan), catch our coverage at the links below.

More 2022 Hyundai Tucson Design Details Visible in Teaser Photos

all-new-hyundai-tucson-2-1599072245.jpg

Remember the Hyundai Vision T? At the 2019 Los Angeles auto show, the automaker showed this concept for a compact crossover that we thought previewed the 2022 Tucson. These teaser photos from Hyundai show that the production Tucson, set to be revealed September 14, won't be too far off from the Vision T.

Two exterior photos give us a good look at what the 2022 Tucson will look like. The grille shares the angular pattern seen on the Vision T, with the headlights integrated into the design; Hyundai calls these Parametric Hidden Lights. The rear shot of the car shows the taillight stretching the span of the vehicle as a thin line just below the rear window. The vertical portions of the taillights deviate from the Vision T, as they are simple, narrow bars.

Hyndai released just one photo of the interior, but the design is clearly visible. The infotainment screen unit protrudes slightly, with buttons that are flush with its surface. Air vents similar to those in a Tesla Model 3 appear to run the width of the dashboard.

2021 Hyundai Tucson unveiled

Hyundai Tucson SUV-9.jpg

This is the new Hyundai Tucson, the fourth generation of the brand’s global best-seller and rival to the Kia Sportage, Volkswagen Tiguan and Peugeot 3008.

Hyundai Tucson SUV-8.jpg

It has undergone a total rethink inside and out, introducing a new and distinctive design language that will be kept unique to the Tucson. Combined with some key technology and chassis updates, it’s part of a grand plan hatched by the Korean brand to push its SUV further upmarket.
Hyundai Tucson SUV-7.jpg

Hyundai previewed this new Tucson late in 2019 with the bold- looking Vision T concept. The production version features many of the Vision T’s styling cues, and it looks like little else in Hyundai’s line-up. The front is dominated by a new grille, with parametric detailing and integrated LED running lights that are designed to be completely hidden within the grille when the car is not being driven.

Hyundai Tucson SUV-5.jpg

Compared with the conventional-looking current car, the new Tucson’s flanks are more sculpted, with dramatic creases, bold shoulders, squared-off wheelarches and a sweeping chrome trim line flowing in one arch from the car’s A-pillar to the C-pillar.

Hyundai Tucson SUV-2.jpg

The tailgate is defined by a new full-width LED lighting bar with fang-like elements, while the lighting signature features a pattern that is similar to the front grille’s, and the design is repeated on the rugged-looking lower bumper section. The rear wiper blade is hidden under the spoiler, to make the tailgate’s surface as smooth as possible.

Hyundai Tucson SUV-11.jpg

Hyundai’s SUV is marginally longer and wider than before, and the wheelbase has been extended by 10mm. The brand claims this results in up to 26mm more legroom for passengers, while the boot now offers a capacity of up to 620 litres in front-wheel-drive petrol models.

Hyundai Tucson SUV-12.jpg

Alloy wheels ranging from 17 inches to 19 inches will be available, while Tucson customers will have nine exterior paint colours to choose from. Every finish can be combined with a contrasting roof.

Hyundai Tucson SUV-13.jpg

The comprehensive transformation continues with an all-new interior; the dash is set low to increase forward visibility, and the design is defined by two chrome lines that sweep seamlessly around the doors, across the top of the dash and then flow downwards into a new higher centre console, which is at the driver’s hand level.

Hyundai Tucson SUV-10.jpg

Hyundai says it has made improvements in material quality with the use of soft-touch plastics at hand height, while buyers will have the option of black or black-and-beige upholstery in leather or fabric, alongside a contrasting black-and-teal package. A total of 64 ambient cabin light colours can be selected, too.

Hyundai has completely removed the instrument cluster housing, with a tablet- style and configurable 10.25-inch digital instrument panel appearing ahead of a new steering wheel. Another 10.25-inch screen is used for the central display, and this includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability. Google and Apple Calendar integration is a new feature, as are selectable user profiles. Last-mile navigation is a new feature, meaning if the driver can’t park at the exact destination, further directions will be sent to their smartphone for finishing the journey on foot. Live parking and traffic information is also part of the new navigation package.

A modified Hyundai Tucson “Beast” concept will be featured in Sony Pictures’ upcoming movie “Uncharted” which releases in theaters starting Feb 11 in the UK and Feb 18 in the US.

Hyundai Motor’s global marketing campaign will also include a new TV spot promoting Tucson and starring actor Tom Holland as Nathan Drake

Press Release:
The all-new 2022 Hyundai TUCSON will show its versatile capabilities and futuristic design in the upcoming Sony Pictures film “Uncharted,” adding thrill and excitement to the adventure as a customized “Beast” concept prototype.

In addition to TUCSON “Beast,” popular production models, such as the all-new 2022 Hyundai TUCSON, Genesis G90, Genesis G80 and Genesis GV80, make appearances in the film, which is set to premiere on Feb. 11 in the U.K. and Feb. 18 in the U.S. and other global markets.

“The all-new TUCSON is a highly capable SUV that is up for the challenge of a treasure-hunting adventure,” said Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Customer Experience Division of Hyundai Motor Company. “‘Uncharted’ is a property with millions of fans around the world and we are excited to showcase the capabilities and technologies of our vehicles in ways that are creative and fitting to the Sony Pictures film. Our recent collaboration with ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ was a tremendous success in promoting the IONIQ 5 and TUCSON, and we look forward to building on that momentum with ‘Uncharted.’”

Sony Pictures’ action-adventure movie is based on the popular PlayStation video game of the same title, “Uncharted,” by Naughty Dog. In the film, street-smart thief Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother, but only if they can learn to work together.

Hyundai Design and Technical Center in Irvine, Calif., and Sony Pictures collaborated on the design of the TUCSON “Beast” concept, which features a rugged exterior with fortified bumpers, tires and other outdoor-ready accoutrements that exhilarate the treasure-hunting escapade.

“The Hyundai team has created a fun and global campaign that perfectly captures the adventurous tone of ‘Uncharted’ and further reinforces why they make such great partners,” said Jeffrey Godsick, EVP of Global Partnerships and Brand Management and Head of Location Based Entertainment at Sony Pictures Entertainment.

As part of its marketing activities for the film, Hyundai Motor has launched a global TV commercial starring Tom Holland and a variety of digital and on-site promotional activities. The 60-second commercial, “Car Wash,” features Holland as Nathan Drake, who arrives at a local car wash with his TUCSON covered in mud and filled with various treasure-hunting tools and artifacts. While his car is being washed, Nathan relaxes at the car wash until the TUCSON is clean and ready for its next adventure. A 30-second broadcast version will air as part of high-visibility television programs in the U.S., Europe, Korea and other global markets through February 2022.

Hyundai Motor’s “Uncharted” campaign stems from the global multi-picture promotional partnership the company inked with Sony Pictures in May 2020 to showcase the company’s human-centered mobility vision via product and technological innovations. It follows Hyundai Motor’s successful partnership with “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” one of the top 10 highest grossing global films of all time, which is currently playing in movie theaters.

Next up, Hyundai Motor will have an integration in “Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One),” the sequel to the critically acclaimed, Academy Award®-winning animated film, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” due to premiere in October 2022.[/justify[
