Got the reverse sensor issue solved. ( Sensors would beep like an alarm clock every time I engaged the reverse gear)
I went to Hyundai service centre and they told me that one sensor is not working and they quoted 1900rs for sensor and 1500rs labor[roll]
Decided won't give this car to H.a.s.s ever.

Ordered part from boodmo, 15 days passed and no sign of shipping so I cancelled the order.
Went to local car market , got a used white sensor for 280rs which unfortunately didn't work.

Went to local accessories guy, he had a black one and quoted 550rs. Bought it for 300 and paid 400rs labor ( it should have been just 200rs labor but the bad white sensor I got, confused us and we had to do hit and trial method which took time)

So 700rs against H.a.s.s 3400rs.

Pending work - removing rear glass sunfilm. It has gone bad and it's blocking the rear view. Go for Garware brand eyes closed , i feel it's even better than 3M since Garware isn't costly at all. Don't get any other brand.

My 1.6 crdi sx has completed around 140k km and still going strong. Will turn 10 on valentines day in feb. Did a long trip this week and decided to calculate fuel economy. To my surpirse, it used 35 ltr for 872km which comes to 24.9 kmpl! What a gem of a engine.

Thanks will do. The car has been very reliable and has not required any major maintainance. I get it serviced every 10k kms without fail and always use fully synthetic oil. Apart from that, I think the only work carried out was replacing front suspension links around 130k km's and a clutch overhaul which was carried out around 90k km's.
The current continental MC5 205/55/r16 tyres are kinda done and I am not sure what to replace them with. Any recommendations? Was planning to switch to Michelin P4ST although my experience with conti's has been good.

Meanwhile, santro has clocked around 180k km's and also has been very reliable apart from some occasional repairs which are expected for the car this old.

@silverjet - how much the clutch O/H costed you ? I have been using Yokohama earth 1 since many years on different cars , if you want silica tyres there is a model Blu earth which should be much better than the already good Earth 1s.

I had a free washing and polish coupon which I got after I renewed my insurance so took the car to sc in the evening and got the car within 50 minutes.
Still the results were so-so.
I had to ask them if they applied polish on the dashboard. It was negligible yet I was happy (check the last picture)
They did the wax procedure in 5 minutes[roll]
Car has clocked 81k kms.

Exhaust was leaking ,
Genuine part market is closed on Sunday so I had to get the exhaust welded and wait for the exhaust to leak again.
Exhaust started leaking again from different place. Got a locally made exhaust. Both the arm's bigger bushes were damaged so replaced that too. Sound was coming everytime I applied brakes so got the discs resurfaced too.

Silencer - 1400rs
Bush - 580
Labor for bush - 160
Disc resurfacing - 440
Alignment and balancing - 600
Labor - 800

The rear Garware sunfilm has completely deteriorated leaving lots of glue. One guy said the rear defogger can get damaged so one has to be extra careful while removing. Any ideas of what can be done ?

On my Verna the control arm was making a noise I thought it would just need bush changed however they said bush aren’t available need to change full arm so had done that

now for i20 was getting nois while going on bumps checked with Hyundai they said steering rack and when I checked personally found the stabiliser link bushing is bad but it’s on order.
They haven’t over charged me on labor so far and plus when I get work done with them the parts have warranty so I prefer get done with Hyundai than outside.

The only bad experience I had from outside was engile oil seal leakage. It happened in my santro and I had to get it done twice, the second time from the HASS. Other than that there's no problem getting things done from outside.

Check my above reply for rear parking sensor issue.
So 700rs against H.a.s.s 3400rs.[\QUOTE]
HASS is expensive for everything. Some items are 4- 5 times expensive In Hyundai packaging than the OEM packaging
I will get the original exhaust after a month or two.

Yes hyundai packaging is more. Like for the clutch slave, the company that makes it tcic is cheaper than Hyundai genuine. However since the part goes kaput quick found it better to rely on Hyundais warranty

Same thing happened with the verna as well.( Earlier Elantra's glass was damaged )
Someone broke 5-6 cars windows for theft. People leave their phone and Wallet inside the armrest or the dashboard while going for morning walk and these thieves try to steal the same.
Nothing was stolen in my car.

Saw another verna with severe damage similar to my car.

Looks like Hyundai paint and primer quality is very average. That is too much rusting, not expected even in a decade old car.

Sorry brother, it's actually very frustrating. I feel very angry and upset looking at the pictures. I can only imagine how hard it is on you.

Get it changed and move on. That is the only option.

P.s So many cars damaged,so many glasses smashed, in broad daylight.
Surely there must be atleast one CCTV footage/pic somewhere with someone??

That’s ridiculous and a matter of immense shame on the part of authorities. What location is it? Good thing though that everything else in the car was fine.

Got the glass fixed from local shop.
Damage 1500rs + 150rs for vacuum+1 hour.
Hyundai ass - 1800+ 4 hours.
Windshield experts - 1900 + 24hours.
Glass on boodmo costed 1100rs.

The creta family was looking at us with pity since our damaged door was open. In the next 10 seconds they too had the same faces we had.
We called PCR , three units came and we lodged the complainant and there is no cctv at this incline. One is present 200 meters behind.
I was surprised after knowing that most of the guys that were walking knew of this and 2 people even claimed they have witnessed a guy looking for valuables inside the car at different times.
I understand police cannot be present everywhere but what to do. Will park at a different gate where there are a lot of people.

This is Kamla Nehru ridge. At any given day more than 100 cars are parked here between 6 am to 10am.
It's a slope reaching to the main gate of the park. The main gate has many vendors and hawkers but no one on the slope. These guys are after the armrest and the dashboard only.

Getting 9kmpl in delhi traffic[cry] my commute has gone down to 15kms a day. Bad mileage is because of short distance trips. Odo nearing 82k kms.
Weirdly, brezza returned 16.5kmpl this time , it has never gone above 15kmpl before. Odo nearing 52k kms.
Elantra is seeing open roads and traveling 70kms a day returning 12.5kmpl. odo nearing 33k kms.
Figo must be giving between 17kmpl - 19kmpl. Odo nearing 100k kms.
