Hyundai India has launched the Aura CNG in the new top-end trim. The South Korean brand now offers the Aura CNG in the S and SX trims. The SX variant of the Hyundai Aura is new top-end trim powered by the CNG engine option. It gets a price tag of Rs 8.56 lakh, ex-showroom.

The new Hyundai Aura SX CNG is available with additional features. It gets a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment head unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new trim also adds steering-mounted controls, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, a cooled glove box and new 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

The Hyundai Aura CNG gets powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. It generates a maximum power of 68 Bhp at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 95 Nm at 4,000 rpm on CNG. There is the option of only a five-speed manual transmission.

With the rising fuel prices in India, manufacturers are hoping that the popularity of CNG vehicles will catch on. Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors are currently the only brands to offer factory-fitted CNG options with the vehicles. With the stringent rules and emission norms, most small cars are not offered diesel engines anymore.

That is where the CNG options can serve as an extra option to the customers.
