The article mentions that they were driving the Polo GT in Delhi and due to bad fuel quality EPC light came on.This implies that this 'Grand Tourer's engine is susceptible to changes in fuel quality,so much for the touring ability in a country like ours.
^ i was also thinking of the same thing, some petrol are so contaminated especially rural ones,my Naturally aspirated petrol Swift which is tuned for 89 level Octane(we have 91 octane as standard now) struggles at the higher rpm range.
I remember around 1998 my dad picked up one of the first Santro's in a hurry cos that was the time when leaded & unleaded petrol was in pumps & my dad wanted a car without a cat con so he could fill fuel without issues.
Have been waiting to TD the GT TSi since forever. Seems like Trivandrum EVM Motor's car has some alignment issues for the past two weeks or so (I don't believe that though). The problem still has not been sorted out. The executive I met said it will take another week atleast.
I will be going to check the car out on Wednesday along with its twice the price three star "A class" to see if an expensive City hatch would do well for me & also for a friend who already has bigger cars in the stable.
i found the GT to be really good
the dsg gearbox works like a dream
maybe coz its my first time with it, but wit thaat kinda price tag
it really hurts .. the car felt rock solid
stability handling gearbox , all top notch
downside being the price , no leather seats, rear seat space.
but for the time being GT tops the charts!!
