Thought of sharing my test drive experience of Honda WR-V Diesel VX Variant. I was earlier looking to buy the Honda BRV, but I was not looking for a seven seater and this is the time when I heard that WRV is going to be launched and decided to wait. Finally got an opportunity for the test drive which lasted for about 7 KMs. Found the vehicle very comfortable and easy to drive. Though it is a diesel variant, the noise level was very minimal and at times felt that I am driving a petrol vehicle. Compared to the BRV, the vibration levels were also less.
I have driven it thru heavy traffic and found the engine very responsive and easy to maneuver. WRV has got good visibility thru IRVM which is of good use. The outside temperature was about 41C and the AC was chilling cold. It was cooling even when the vehicle was not moving.
It has Digipad infotainment system which is also present in the newly launched Honda City. The Navigator is quiet good and easy to operate. The Audio output is average. It is having reverse parking camera.
The key feature of Honda WRV is the Sunroof with one touch operation.
Now let me note down some Pros and Cons of WRV.
Pros --
1) Driving Comfort
2) NVH is low and bearable
3) Fuel Efficient
4) Good Looks. Nice SUVish look.
5) Sunroof
6) Cabin is very spacious. Even the driver seat fully pulled back, there is plenty of leg room for the rear passenger.
7) Keyless entry with Start / Stop feature
8) Driver height adjustable seats
9) Steering column is Tilt and Telescopic adjustable.
10) Good ground clearance. The ride was comfortable over speed breakers and pothole road.
Cons --
1) Slightly overpriced. Ideally it should have been priced 50k to 75K less.
2) The audio output of the infotainment system could have been improved.
3) For tall people, there is less headroom for the driver seat. Wish the design engineers took care of it better when designing to sunroof.
4) Has got waiting period of about 3 months.
