You cant expect 15-18kmpl in such a car, be it Civic, Optra, or even the Kizashi. They are bigger and different league. Read, BEST IN CLASS mileage. Sounds as if you are comparing everything with the DZire [evil]
Did i tell you i was comparing Civic with Dzire?

I was comparing Civic with Corolla and Laura.

You just assumed buddy. My collegue had a Civic which he sold only due to very low FE. My department head also has company provided Civic and he also reports the same but his fuel bills are paid by company. So he doesn't care.

But this is OT so i am stopping this discussion here.

Sankar

Civic is not know for mileage guys. City and Brio returns excellent mileage figures but not Civic

Regards,
Sankar
See who brought in Civic mileage in the discussion on Amaze [evil] and no mention of comparing it with Laura or Corolla, which should mean comparison was with this league, cant blame me for that buddy [glasses]. OTs should go.

Back to Amaze.

Hi Vishnu - I have been following your ownership review quite religiously and must say you have amazing DIY concepts.

I too own Amaze (D) SMT and I recently completed my 1k Kms. Some of the problems I have been facing in the vehicle are
1. Gear shifts - especially upshift and downshift from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th is very rigid
2. Vibration on front right gate and rear view mirror
3. (this one is really annoying) as soon as I cross 80 Km/hr on speedo, there is a very minute continuous whistling noise on left side of the vehicle. During my first service today, I showed it to my SA but its been day 1 and they have still not able to identify the exact problem. Have you faced any such problem or have heard of it. Please let me know so that I could give SA some gyan over it.

  1. i do had some bad time with the gears initially and after each service, it get's much better [:)]
  2. Front right gate ?[confused] You mean the A pillar ? I do not have vibrations on my OVRM. How does it vibrate ? The whole ORVM module or just the mirrors ?
  3. I haven't heard/faced of such kind of noise from my vehicle. Used to cruise always above 80 kmph

Day 2 - Honda still doesn't have solution for the whistling noise. I am told by service center they have still not identified the root cause and trial and error method could take bit long. This is so annoying, do they even have expertise to deal with problem.

From where exactly is the noise coming from ? Left side of the Hood or what ?[surprise]

May be any of the lock's of the Mirror has been loosened out . [frustration]

That is something which they are not able to identify. The whistling noise is due to air seeping in through some gap, either the windows or gaps in door frame or god knows, but it starts only after crossing 80 and vanishes when speed is reduced below 80 [frustration]
