(I doubt) the introduction of ethanol-blended fuel on all my 4-stroke carb bikes
I suspect the same sometimes. FE has also come down very slightly. But then it could be all in my head.

I didn't know Ethanol blend had that much impact. Can't imagine how things are gonna be in a Fuel injection engines.
They have added 10% of substance which is not tested or recommended by engine manufacturer during the design of these old vehicles. In the books of those old engines, this is akin to 10% Adulteration.
Sadly India does not have separate nozzles.
In some countries they have 5~6 nozzles and you can choose Ethanol-free, Flex fuel, Different octane levels and so on.

BS4 engines can take E10 fuel safely. Beyond that ethanol will damage engine and pipes, fuel lines etc.
So far it's E10. Soon it's going to be E20 every where. Then all cars, including sold now, will suffer badly.

In cars what if we change fuel filters every 10000kms instead of 20000kms? Would it help against E20 wear out effects?
Fuel filter changing wont help at all. It's not dirty fuel that they are going to give. Its different ethanol percentage what is going to be supplied, which will be E20 instead of E10.
It's going to go through the fuel filter to everywhere in the engine, till it gets burned out from the exhaust, damaging whatever rubber and plastic it encounters along the way. Especially if that rubber and plastic was not designed to handle E20 fuel, which actually at present ,is not, in 99% of cars on road, including those that are sold now.

This topic has serious implications on/for every car and bike owner. I would encourage members to continue the discussion Here
