Nice pictures again, Mukesh. Keep them coming. Btw, how long did it take to climb? I'm planning to climb the next time I visit Tirupathi (I have been planning for the past 4 years and I always end up driving. LOL)

It takes 3 hours 45 min for climbing.

Roughly minimum 4 hours with family.

@ Avindu LOL yeah that's what happens to me also always![lol]

@ Mukesh Walking for 4 hours is manageable but climbing for 4 hours , that's what worries me!

Re: Hawk on a Travel: Bangalore-Chittor-Tirumala(Tirupathi).

Then after a few plain steps which is easily doable.

Then we have to cross roads, and have to walk on roads.

This road is the one where vehicles leave from Tirumala.
i.e the old road which was 2 way a decade ago.

Both the vehicles used the same route earlier which has 57 Hair pin Bends.

When you think that its all over, there comes another 250 steps, which are steep.

Some people were climbing this part of step through their knees.

This part of step, is same as the one that i had mentioned of Gali Gopuram i.e STEEP Steps.

From the Gopuram where there was Ambulance , I waited for other members to come.
Then i finished climbing within 3.45 mins.

Other members took Half an Hour more.

That is where i went to temple of Varaha Swamy.

It is where one has to go directly before getting darshan of Lord Balaji.

Only myself did that Formality.

And with a permission of Cop i could click a pic of Mahadwaram of Balaji Temple.

Actually this place strictly camera's are not allowed.

As army Men are surrounded this place with AK-47's.

Posting some pics.

Re: Hawk on a Travel: Bangalore-Chittor-Tirumala(Tirupathi).

Thanks Mukesh for covering and sharing the tour in details.
Always welcome.

Then after the climbing by steps.

Then we took some rest in room for 45 mins in the room.

Our room was near Tirumala museum.

And one hotel i would recommend in Tirumala is Woodside Restaurant.
The one which is in the underground.

Only this place has Tasty food.

Every time we visit Tirumala we visit only this hotel.

Another one is not that Good, Sandeepa(Mayura Hotel).[thumbsdown]

After a dinner in the Wood side.

It was already 9.30 pm.

Then with our Pedestrian Slip we all went to VQC-1.

Just the queue besides 300 rs Seegradarshanam queue.

It took 1.30 hrs on that day.

In time 9.45pm.

Got darshan at 11.15 pm.

Sat inside the temple below Vimana Venkateshwara Swamy for 45 mins.
What a fresh air inside the temple.

The note counting centre was closed for that day.

Then there was a huge rush for laddu counter.

A new complex For Laddu Distribution has been built by SBI.

You won't believe there are 30 counters, Just as in bank.

All the 30 counters had heavy rush, took 50 minutes to take laddu.

Reached the room at 1 am.

For pedestrians who make it to Tirumala by foot, they are given Laddu ticket in the queue complex for 20 Rs/ person.

This is exclusively for Pedestrians.

The next day we woke around 10 am.

Got ready, and took tickets for Seegradarshanam(Quick Darshan).

For this one has to go into the queue of this in VQC-1 & payment is made while on the queue by any one person of family.

Then you are let in a cell.
There was heavy rush for Seegradarshanam on the next day, it took 3 hours.

But this time we were let upto the inside dwaram of Lord balaji.
That was indeed a great darshan.

In time 11.15 am.
Out time-2.30 pm.

The same day after the Darshan, we went to 2 places.

Prabhu padam(View from Hill).
Rock Garden(Shilpa Toranam)
And Falls in there.

This place can be done easily.

To go to this place, just take left after the Hotel Sandeepa Mayura.

Hawk's Turbo could be tested here, what an effortless pull.[thumbsup]

Yes road's were indeed narrow.

Final set of pics.

Any one visiting tirumala from bangalore

I would suggest you the following route.

Bangalore-K.R.Puram Bridge-Hoskote-Kolar-Chittor-Palamner-Tirupathi-Tirumala.

And avoid Chittor Bypass if you don't want to stop at Bans Hotel & instead, go through the Chittor Town, if you want good road.

This is the only stretch that is bad for Low GC cars.

And the last place while we left from Tirumala was Srinivasa mangapuram.

This was the 1st time we visited this place.

Concluding pics..

Re: Hawk on a Travel: Bangalore-Chittor-Tirumala(Tirupathi).

Well again on 24 this month i had been to Tirumala.

This time apart from Tirumala visited Kalahasthi.

Along with few more places in Tirumala, the rush to have darshan of god was so huge.

This time also Hawk was parked up at Tirumala, then we went to the foot steps of Alipiri by jeep.

Again we climbed the hill through steps.

It was a rainy drive from Bangalore on 23 rd evening, i took the other route through Whitefield-Hosakote route instead of usual K.R.Puram route.

The eyes of Hawk did a job well with the 90/100 bulbs in pitch dark road.

Posting some pics.

Re: Hawk on a Travel: Bangalore-Chittor-Tirumala(Tirupathi).

Then we headed to a place in Tirumala called Papavinasham.
Which is said to be holy water, which removes the sins of people.

After visiting this place we headed towards Tirupathi-Kalahasti (42 kms from Alipiri).

Which was done within 45 mins, where a few stretch of road was bad due to the flyover work.
And while returning to Bangalore there was a detour to bypass place connecting to Bangalore-Chennai highway.

A few pics are of the descenting route of Tirumala.

Nice pictures , the Ghat roads are well laid at Tirumala though while coming down there are a lot of hair pin bends and S-bends. Going to Tirupathi from Chennai is a much simpler and easy affair.[:)]

Mukesh,

why you missed SV zoo park shortcut? if you took this road, it directly leads you to Alapiri without reaching Thirupathi city.
