Sportscraft will be organizing the 2010 Gulf Foster a Child Car Drive in Mumbai on the 31st of January. This unqiue event gives a chance to 50 orphans from Our Lady's Home in Parel and St. Anthony’s Home in Byculla, to experience a car trip in the city of mumbai with a family. To take part in this event one merely needs to hold a valid driver's license. The drive will be flagged off from the Worli police ground and finish at the Acres club in Chembur.
As per the rules of the event, every car crew will comprise of a driver, navigator along with one child and an underprivilaged kid alloted by the organizer from the foster homes. Another unique aspect of the event will be that participants will be handed over route charts just one minute before their flag off time! This route charts enables them to follow the route set by the organizers from start to finish. There a few pit stops along the route where there will be a Q&A session for the teams.Every member of the team will be asked a question at the pit stops. The winner of the event will be decided on the basis of the number of questions answered correctly and time taken to complete the course.
The event is held on the fun side and it is not a race. It only requires teams to correctly follow the tulip chart and check in at various pit stops along the route. There will also be two special prizes up for grabs namely a trophy with a gift hamper for Best Dressed Team including the orphan child, and also for the Best Decorated Car. Ladies are recommended to wear their best dresses at the event as there are special prizes for All-Ladies team too.
