Firstly in India, Understandably "Fitness Test" is a gimmick just like "Driving Test". But a very important question is that why are majority of Indian car owners not paying personal attention towards their vehicles and always depend on an external agencies "
credible certification" for their vehicles?
It is just like doing a regular health check up. When people are so concerned about their health than why most owners are casual towards the concerns related to their cars?
Attitude of Indian owners towards cars:
If the car has a fused bulb, still its driven.
If the car has a broken lamp still its driven.
If the car is emitting smoke, it can be driven.
If the ORVM is broken, let it be.
If the door is not closing, bang it 10 times but let it be.
A wiper is not working, Its OK, at-least other one is working.
Bumper is broken, its ok, tie it with a rope.
The list is endless. I very well know what it takes to acquire a "Valid Fitness Certificate". But, if on a scale on 10 we accurately and with actual parameters we ever judge then at-least 70-80% vehicles will fail.
We all are so informed, talk of reducing carbon footprints, but how? Automobiles are a major source in increasing carbon footprints in India. This whole gimmick of "Fitness Certificate" is sham.
The day car owners become equally pro-active towards their car's health as they are for their own health then these external certifications and laws won't be required.
A thought I would like to put across "When we as humans can't bear illness/ hurt then just think about a car's health in the same way". We all can vocally address our pain but cars can't". They simply can't!
Love your cars the way you love your family!
