Jaguar Land rover has marked a record breaking performance for July by selling 31,611 vehicles last month.

Jaguar Land Rover, the UK's leading manufacturer of premium luxury vehicles, last month sold 31,611 vehicles – its best ever July, an increase of 21% versus the same period last year. During the first seven months of the year, Jaguar Land Rover sold 241,801 vehicles, up 15%. July sales were strong for Jaguar Land Rover in Asia Pacific up 43%, the China Region up 36%, North America up 31%, the UK up 8%, and other overseas markets up 29%. Sales in Europe were flat. For the first seven months of the year sales were up in all major regions with Asia Pacific up 29%, the China Region up 18%, North America and the UK both up 15% Europe up 5% and other overseas markets up 20%.

Commenting on the July performance Phil Popham, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director said: “This has been another record month for Jaguar Land Rover driven by particularly strong performances in the US, China and Asia Pacific. " Jaguar has delivered a very strong performance with solid growth in China and North America thanks to the refreshed XJ and XF models. Land Rover has again seen record sales this month with continued strong global demand for the new and refreshed model line-up.”

In July, Jaguar sold 6,157 vehicles up 65% reflecting continued strong demand for all XF derivatives and the introduction of the F-TYPE. XJ also performed well in the month up 52% following a solid performance in both the US and China. Jaguar demonstrated growth in all of the major regions: the China Region up 221%, North America up 63%, Asia Pacific up 32%, the UK up 31%, Europe up 28%, and other overseas markets up 64%. Calendar year to date, Jaguar sold 43,793 vehicles up 33% with increases in each major region: 98% in the China Region, 28% in North America, 23% in the UK, 22% in Asia Pacific, 15% in Europe and 25% in other overseas markets.

Land Rover

Land Rover set a new July sales record retailing 25,454 vehicles, up 14%. Solid performances were seen across the new and refreshed line up with a particularly strong month from Discovery 4 up 37%. Positive performances were recorded in: Asia Pacific up 46%, North American up 21%, the China Region up 20% and the UK up 3%. Sales in Europe were down by 5% due to Range Rover Sport run out. Calendar year to date, Land Rover sold 198,008 vehicles up 11% with a strong performance from Freelander up 27% and all-new Range Rover retailing 25,863 units. Positive growth was seen in all major regions: Asia Pacific up 30%, the UK up 13%, North America up 11%, the China Region up 8%, Europe up 4% and other overseas markets up 20%.

Audi Passes BMW in Sales of Luxury Cars, Nabbing Global Sales Lead. Audi brand has finally surpassed BMW in overall sales measured over the first two months of 2014.

By the end of February, Audi reported sales of 242,400 vehicles. For the record, that’s 383 vehicles more than BMW. And, while that may seem like a narrow margin, BMW outsold Audi during the entire year of 2013 by just 429 units

Audi achieves new global sales record

The German carmaker's first quarter results for 2014 surges past 400,000 units, helped by success in Audi's biggest sales market - China
Audi's sales break up world wide is as below.
China, which saw an increase of 21.1 percent, Germany, which was up by 12.4 percent, and the UK, up 11.3 percent.
Audi’s UK sales during the first quarter of 2014 increased by 4429 units in the same period in 2013, to 43,671. The firm's single biggest market remains China with 124,520 units sold in the same period.

Audi outshines Mercedes in 2014, so far!

Deliveries of Daimler's flagship passenger-car brand rose 10.4 per cent in May to a record 134,031 vehicles, helped by 30 per cent growth in China, the company said on Friday.

That compared with 152,000 deliveries, or 10.8 per cent growth, at Volkswagen's Audi which has outsold Mercedes every month this year.

Fiat-Chrylser Group Sales Report

Following are the 2014 sales figures report of the Fiat-Chrysler Group in Italian market.

Group Sales:

• The FCA Group recorded yearly sales of 3,77,000 units accounting for 27.7% market share.

Fiat:

• Panda proved to be the best-selling car by Fiat Italy in 2014.

• Fiat sold 2,81,500 units acquiring a market share of 20.7% in Italy.

• In December 2014, it sold 17,500 units with market share of 19.2% opposed to 20.2% in Dec 2013.

Alfa Romeo:

• Sold 28,000 units from Jan – Dec 2014 with market share of 2.1%.

• December sales totaled 1,800 vehicles with market share at 2.0%.

• Giulietta maintained a consistently strong ranking throughout the year.

Jeep:

• Jeep posted an all-time annual sales record by dispatching 11,300 units (0.8% market share).

• In December, brand sales passed the 2,300 unit mark, representing a 405% YoY increase.

• The strong sales performance was primarily driven by the Grand Cherokee and New Renegade.

Looking at the numbers and comparing Fiat numbers in India, one feel disappointed with Fiat India strategy.

TOYOTA continues to hold the title of world's largest car maker in 2014!!!

Toyota Motor Corp. warded off Volkswagen AG to remain the world’s top-selling automaker for a third consecutive year, driven by record U.S. deliveries of its SUVs.

Worldwide sales for Toyota, including its Hino Motors Ltd. and Daihatsu Motor Co. units, climbed 3 percent to 10.23 million vehicles last year, according to a company statement. Volkswagen last week reported a 4.2 percent gain to 10.14 million vehicles, including its two heavy-truck units. General Motors Co. followed with 9.92 million sales, up 2.1 percent.

Surging demand for sport-utility vehicles including the compact RAV4 and mid-size Highlander paced Toyota’s U.S. market share gain last year, spurring plans to boost local production and exports from Japan in 2015. As Volkswagen and GM add factories to bolster their already-dominant position in China, President Akio Toyoda’s strategy to forgo building new car plants until at least next year could result in the first shakeup in auto-sales leadership since 2011.

“Their focus is not No. 1,” Peggy Furusaka, a Tokyo-based auto-credit analyst at Moody’s Investors Service, said by phone. “Toyota is more concerned about keeping profitability than chasing numbers. So for coming years, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Toyota selling fewer cars than VW.”
