We had a quick drive to Sundararajapuram, Courtallam, and Thenmala, one day trip. Approximately 300KM round trip in one day.
We started off early morning, had breakfast at KTDC Palaruvi, Thenmala. There was an article about Sunflowers at Sundararajapuram in Malayala Manorama Newspaper. I thought why can't we visit that place. So from Palaruvi, we decided to visit Sundararajapuram, and while returning we can visit Courtallam falls.

Pallaruvi is little far from the main road. Now the tourism department facilitate centralized transportation system to go pallaruvi from the main gate. Up and down transportation is provided, and inclusive in ticket.

After Palaruvi, we moved to Thenmala Eco Tourism. The main attractions are butterfly garden, sky walk, garden & dam view, adventure rides, and guided trekking. We opted for sky walk, and garden. We were running short of time, we covered only few areas of Garden. We tried the hanging bridge.

Sculpture Garden (Animal & Nature)
The sculpture garden is really interesting. It is created on the slope of a hill, without disturbing the slope. There is walk-way, and you feel fresh when you make a full round.

We spent some more time in Sculpture Garden. Few of the photos attaching. I have plans to visit the Deer Park, on way to Punalur. The deer park is another wide area, have options to trek a mini forest of almost 5KM round trip.

Our Team want some refreshments. So visited the Cafe at the Thenmala Eco Tourism Reception. Our team decided to delay the deer park to next time. So it may include in the next travelogue.

Thanks Anil,
I could not locate the sunflower field in Sundarapandiapuram. I followed an Article in Malayala Manorama newspaper, and we missed the exact location as mentioned in the article. We reached Sundarapandiapuram, and tried many roads. We went into a village till the end of the road, and find difficult to reverse the vehicle. While going towards Sundarapandiapuram, there was some diversions, and the road was very narrow. At one place we drive through middle of a village and through very narrow road. I gave up. Where exactly these locations. Some GPS locations will help.

Travel along the Kollam - Thirumangalam National Highway to Shencottai and travel up to Ilanji. Drive five km and take a right turn from the second junction and you can enter the road to Suranda. Drive to Suranda, then to Sundarapandiapuram, the sunflower fields can be seen on the left side of the road. Sundarapandiapuram is further few km along the way.
