Re: Ford Ikon 1.3Clxi Endura 2000

It is been long time since i updated the thread.

My baby has touched 70000kms today. It took more than 45 days to cross from 69550 to 70000. My car was hardly used in these days. Nobody in my house even bothered to start the car when i was in Shanghai.[frustration][frustration]

Finally bought a AUX adapter for the Blaupunkt HU. Cost 300 rs.

Dhaya here is the cable. You have to insert one part of the cable into the AUX slot in the HU.

Another Update on the car:

Baby started to Overheat and the reservoir tank bursted. And bought a new tank last month. Cost of the tank 1400 bugs and cap 450 bugs.

After the tank was replaced still car overheated and during my visit to 7 Hills (Thirupathi) last month car got heated for more than 3 to 4 times. But somehow managed to get her back home with blessing of Lord Venki.

Took it to MPL Ford ASS at OMR. As usual the mechanics inspected the car and said that there is a major problem and will cost around 60k[frustration]. They didnt even tell what the problem was.

2 days back took her to my dad's trusted Mechanic and he inspected the car for more than 2 hours and finally found out the culprit was electric fan, and the radiator.

Changed the motor of the fan and cleaned the radiator and found out there were hell number of block in it. Bought a new thermostat.

Voila overheating stopped. All problems rectified.

Cost:-

Thermostat :- 975
Cleaning Radiator :- 700
Fan Motor :- 1350 (Some Korea make with 2yrs warranty)
Labour:- 500

Total:- Rs 3525

Again Ford ASS let me down [pig]. Where is 3.5k and 60k?

Hmmm i wonder what they thought the problem was at A.S.S , complete overhaul? You should have asked them the estimate for the repair Bharath , try calling them again and asking if possible![evil]

An apt example of trusty good old mechanics. Now days it is even difficult to find them. Thank your stars that you saved the remaining 56.5k.
