Yes but they mentioned that the benefit of economies of scale would be evident from Day 1 itself, even when they would go for 80 % localization in 1 or 2 yrs. Currently its at 68%. They have also mentioned that they are so confident that they would shock everyone with the announcement in June. Another point that they are expecting Sales to cross the roof.

How can they be so confident. Another thing I noticed is that all the below cars, have an Ex Showroom price of their TOP END PETROL below 7 Lacs.

1. Honda Amaze
2. Swift Dezire CS
3. i20
4. Vols-Wagon Polo
5. Chevy Sail
6. Fiet Punto
7. Verito
8. Etos

So I don't think Ford is going to price the Titanium 1.0 above 7L, and be this confident.

Lets hope for the best

haha I have already booked it at my local dealership 2 weeks back..I have already talked to the guys and have said that I will take the entire refund if the price is above my Budget. I will go for the Honda Amaze Top Petrol then. I currently own an i10 and would like to sell that and get this one

Another Fantastic Review by ONCARS.IN
The guy here mentions that ES does not have the great handling, suspension, steering is too tight and other things for which ford is famous.
While overdrive, autocar said ES has a very good drive..

also nearly every review said that car reports a milage of 6-8 kmpl.[cry]

i am surely pretty confused[confused]

This is a fantastic review. Very minute details have been covered.
The interior plastics are so weak. Just look at the shaky instrument cluster shown in this video. All these things will start rattling in few days of use in India. [anger]
Interior Plastic is not as good as some of the other cars in same price range. Pricing will be key. I hope Ford have learnt from their mistakes. Anyday i would pick Fiesta over Verna. I hope EcoSport also offers Fiesta like Driving Dynamics at a lesser price tag.

Doesn't the Mars Red color look similar to the Sunlight Copper that was in older Swift.

Hello The Automotive India, I am a Trivandrum based auto enthusiast entering the forum from today onwards, to be frank i am a ford guy, i own a Ford Figo and still love it and have been patiently waiting 4 the Ecosport and atlast saw the reviews from various auto editors and i am [:D], I wish all of you enthusiasts out there would accept my presence

my pick on the Ford Ecosport

1. Fantastic looks(looks extremely sporty like a mini range rover evoque) but the sad bit is just 1-5% of Indian population likes sporty looks...most prefer classy looks which the rest pie of manufacturers are fighting to make the best of classic design

2. Interior comfort wont match a VW polo or a Skoda Fabia since i ve driven both and they are extrememly comfortable cars and difficult to beat but it will be much better than hyundai i20,Swift,Ford classic, etios etc since the Fords suspension setup is a marvel in terms of engineering point.

3. Driving dynamics WILL BE TOP NOTCH its in Fords DNA, so enthusiasts please be patient, the Ecosports MRF tyres just dosent do justice pick the goodyear tyres and i am sure it will blow polo gt tsi or any other car in this segment, even the old Ford Classic

4. The Ecoboost engine is a revelation in 3rd gear u can reach 160

Ford Focus 1.0 litre Ecoboost 125 HP test (0-100 km/s, 100-0 km/s) - YouTube
another one

Ford b-max 1.0 eco boost 0-180 km/h - YouTube

another one

195 km/h en Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost 125 CV : the fastest car in his category - YouTube

5. Milage is questionable in Indian traffic conditions my uncle who lives in Glasgow Scotland has driven the Focus 1.0 ecoboost and it gets a milage of around 11.9 kmpl in city and 15.6 in highway(with a cruise at 120-140 kmph) so in Indian traffic it will drop to 9.5-10.5 kmpl in city and 12.5-15.6 highway

Fords upcoming hit

Second generation - Ford Kuga | Drive it! - YouTube

I am posting all these ecoboost reviews to make those TAI members who have doubts about 1.0 ecoboost guys, its a fantastic engine even with the turbo lag, if a diesel has turbo lag its very bad because diesel engines dont prefer revving up and they dont revv well as such, but petrols love to revv and if at all there is some turbo lag just push the throttle an it easily passed 1800 rpm and shows the ecoboost muscle(remember Ford focus 1.0 Ecoboost has 1280 kg kerbweight ecosport 1256kg but gear ratios are differnt in India to get bettermilage )

Also some guys have been really frustrated about the Oncars.in review of ecosport 2 be frank that review is a complete Mess. If you guys can chek oncars.in review of Honda Amaze itself you people will understand, that guy tells its gearbox is notchy, engine is vey silent cabin is very silent etc which are all infact the exact opposite in real time, i test drove Amaze last week and to be frank Amaze is not worthy of Honda badge, it was more like a Maruti Suzuki AMaze with honda badge, the good bits are lots of space, biege interiors, good engine power and response but with that its good points end,A ford Classic felt much better that Amaze.

Also a quote on interior plastics of ford ecosport, they are flimsy and wont hold more than 50k kms without rattle it seems, also the rear hatch opening might develop rattles due to weight of tyres, but as for the rest of the package its unbeatable it seems

Guys please if you people want to hunt complaints about ecosport do it but for the sheer sake of all the other reviews like Autocar India, overdrive,NDTV car and bike show,Times Drive,Cartoq etc please watch them as well i believe they have much better experience in the Auto field rather than this Oncars.in websites review, see how misleading one review can go, Yes ecosport is not spacious as a full fledged SUV but its a CUV a compact utility vehicle and in that respect its just should be as spacious as the compact sedans or the large hatchbacks and Ford has done brilliant job to make the most of space out of 4m length
