Editing Registration Number Plates?

hello guys i have a confusion
why do people who upload the pics of their cars and bikes paint their number plates ?? is it necessary ? whats the basic reason behind it

Some do not want to reveal the number!!

i do not edit them , so do few of them!!

If a Bangalorean member posts an unedited pic of his no. plate, you note down the number, go to btis.in and enter it, you will be able to find out his name and some other info.

All this is basically for privacy. And when we, on the forum, upload pics of someone elses car without him/her knowing, we take it as our responsibility to maintain his/her privacy by whitening out the no. plate while posting.
