Ducati has announced the expansion of the Streetfighter family with the introduction of the new Ducati Streetfighter V2 and the top-of-the-range Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP. The Streetfighter V2 is in fact the naked street version of the Ducati Panigale V2, stripped of the fairings and equipped with a flat and wide handlebar, for a more upright 'street' riding position. It essentially takes all the technology and know-how from the Panigale V2 and is packed into a more accessible and practical package for everyday use. The Streetfighter V2 will be available in international markets starting December 2021, and is expected to be introduced in India sometime in early 2022.

Ducati has launched the new 2022 Streetfighter V2 in India today at a price of Rs 17.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The naked sports motorcycle shares a lot with the Panigale V2 and joins the Streetfighter V4 and V4 S priced at Rs 22.15 lakh and Rs 25.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V2 has a sharp design with many similarities to the Streetfighter V4. The front has a V-shaped LED DRL that Ducati claims has been inspired by the DC character Joker’s grin. The double layer fairing integrates the headlights and the air intakes. The Superquadro engine serves as a load bearing element, and integrates with the fluid surfaces of the tank. Aerodynamics have been tweaked to get performance without using biplane wings. The biplane wings can be opted for as an accessory. The motorcycle has a dry weight of just 178kgs, with the weight distributed 52 per cent front and 48 per cent rear. The front has 43mm Showa forks with full adjustability, while the rear has a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber. It comes with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV 120/70 section front and 180/60 section rear tyres.

Powering the new 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V2 is the same 955cc Superquadro twin-cylinder motor which is a bit low on power compared to the Panigale V2. It produces 153bhp at 10,750rpm and 101.4Nm of torque at 9000rpm. This motor comes paired to a six-speed gearbox and is available with a quick shifter as standard. There are three power modes, high, medium and low along with cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine braking and ride modes (wet, road and sport) which can be accessed via the 4.3-inch colour TFT cluster.
