It better to leave the car in dust than covering up , yeah heat trapped inside will cause problem.

No never , i never ever cover my cars , the estilo cover that came with our new car still lies unfolded , it was used by my uncle to cover his old zen . Now the manza cover is still lying untouched - any takers hehe

But i own about 5 to 6 car covers , guess the reason?
I use them regularly

Next day morning i found some cracker paper in between the springs of rear shocks in my Apache , did that burst there? oh am sad . some one kept a 1000 wala , though my bike's back was facing the road , this thing came in. I was in tears seeing the cracker burst around my bike!

It's still sometime for Diwali but people have already started firing those crackers which are a serious threat to our vehicles. So what are you planning to prevent it this time? I could hear a lot of car’s alarm buzzing whenever a high intensity cracker bursts in the area.

Hey guys , Happy Diwali, and don't cover your car with car cover, it may burn the cover.
Esp i have seen some M800 covered by those blue color plastic type tarpauls.
So don't cover up.

Yesterday while I was passing some kid was trying to lit up Laxmi Bomb in middle of road and I was just some 10-12 meters away. I honked liked crazy to shoo away that kid.

Luckily no kids in my society except for 2 who are just 3 years old, of which mine is one [;)]

Yup. In our place, people club their rides together in a safe parking area where no one else is permitted to light crackers.

Me along with my cousins launched a Rocket and the darn thing went sideways and landed on a coconut palm burning it down. Another was where a cousin of mine, Who was slightly drunk lit a cracker and threw the match instead of the cracker and it blasted in his hands[lol]. He was just stunned and his hands were numb and red for a while. There were no injuries luckily.

I normally never take out my car on Diwali evenings !!

Also there is a possibility of firing crackers around the apartment parking lots and my car is always parked in my office in a covered place and with 24hrs security[:)]

3 years back I ran over my Santro over a bomb and to my great luck the bomb exploded near my rear tyres. Other than vibrations nothing happened but we all family members in car were afraid. I pulled my Santro aside and luckily (touch wood) nothing happened. I usually do not take my wheels outside atleast during Diwali vacation.

I safely park my car in the basement for 3 days , specially in the evenings.

Apart from crackers, residues of rockets coming down may burn/scratch the paint if car is left open. Also if covered with plastic/PU car covers, there is a scare of catching fire.

I remember am incident that happened to my uncles friend it was in 1999.

His friend had a Ford Escort,a big deal then!
And he had custom painted it with a colour changing paint (depending on how light hit it).
Which i assume must have been a very expensive affair.
So a month after the paint job came Diwali.
And a fire cracker (guessing a rocket or sparkles ) still burning hot landed on the car spoiling the finish.
He had to redo the panel & had a tough time getting the finishing right i heard.

Just about the right time to bring this topic up. What's the plan of TAI-gers to protect their rides this Diwali?
