Re: DC Avanti : First Impressions

IMO looks good from front but rear kills everything and if you view it from side, just looks in proportionate.
From certain angles it does look quirky .
i agree with dharmesh. the rear looks so awkward. maybe someone will ask DC to further modify it and totally destroy it [lol]
And dc might charge a good amount of money for doing that [;)]
Here is my slightly tuned version of the avanti. I could have spent time on sketching a 3d one but did not find the need for it.
The avanti has a very capable and innovative design language. The front is unchanged but the back is.
Your sketches are really nice to be honest in the side profile your sketch looks more nicer then the avanti .but yes dc must be applauded that atleast he dared to do something which no 1 has ever tried .

hahaha..

DC and his creations. Looks like DC is confused. I hope he finds customers.

The first attempt will always be crude unless.....you are PAGANI.

If pagani can then everybody else can. Yeah its very difficult for DC with those proportions but its a very capable car.
Everything has a first time. I think dc will work it hopefully.

What Pagani did was miraculous.

I personally dont like DCs work. Every time he comes up with a concept, I do have a look at it, to see if he has done something different (with hope). BUT as always then look the other way.....

Re: DC Avanti : First Impressions

I agree with you. Pagani has made reputation and has the popularity to scare ferrari and Mclaren. And DCs designs are dodgy mostly.
This is the side view which i eddied from the back.

Re: DC Avanti: India’s First Sportscar Costing < Rs.30 Lakh.

DC Avanti will soon be see the light of production.

Founded and promoted by the famous Indian automobile designer Mr. Dilip Chhabria, DC Design was into customization of automobiles and bespoke designs for cars that already exist. The firm has been presenting outrageous design concepts occasionally, like the DC Imperator. Times are changing now and DC wants to become an automaker. The ambitious move saw the introduction of the DC Avanti at the Delhi Expo last year. Now, DC is setting up a 60 Crore plant at Sanand in Gujarat to make its own cars.
Touted to be the first Indian supercar, the Avanti has an estimated pricetag in the vicinity of Rs. 25 lakhs. We brought you the first exclusive spyshot of the car being tested, few months back! The mid engined supercar derives its power from a 2 litre Ford EcoBoost engine which is good for 240 bhp. The gearbox will be a 6-speed manual unit. The car which weighs 1,562 kg accelerates from 0-100 in under 7 seconds. Speaking to Economic Times, Mr. DC stated that, “I want DC Design to manufacture limited edition cars. Once we are done with 4,000 units of one variant, we would phase that out and introduce a new model in the market. With aspirational young executives getting on board to own their sports car and luxury cars, we have decided to operate in the 25-30 lakh segment.”

The proposed plant is expected to be ready by 2014, but DC stated that he is close to launch the Avanti which will be initially made at the firm’s Pune facility. As the numbers eventually increase, the new plant will come into the picture. The total production capacity of the Sanand plant would be 3,500 units per year. There are no details about the so called super SUV except that it is likely be showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.

Nowadays he is no good in designing car exteriors. See how weird the Thar in yellow. Hope the SC don't fall apart with ripping.

Well I remember a Rolls Royce which DC did, it was hideous!! I remembered seeing it on youtube, here is the picture
It's neither a RR nor a DC design. It's a BMW 6-series.

Hope this car is made for Indian conditions(dust, smoke, scratches, unwanted attention  )
But the design seems nice and I hope the car is well made.

DC Avanti spotted testing in Maharashtra

The first made-in-India supercar, the DC Avanti, was spotted testing near Satara, Maharashtra. The car has been designed and developed by DC Design in our country. DC unveiled the vehicle at the recently concluded Auto Expo.
The DC Avanti is a completely new car unlike other cars from the renowned car design house which have an existing car as a base and have modifications done to it. DC Design might be conducting some final tests on the production version of this car. The camouflaged test vehicle does not reveal the minor changes that might be done. However, we expect the car to retain most of the elements that were seen on the car displayed at the Auto Expo 2014.

DC Design has powered the Avanti with an EcoBoost four-cylinder 2.0-litre DOHC engine sourced from Ford. This motor, that features direct injection, produces 245bhp of power and 366Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The current mill is Euro 5 compliant which can be upgraded to the upcoming Euro 6 norms enabling the company to consider it for the export market as well.

The Avanti was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo and two years later, DC Design brought the production spec of the car to the biennial event this year. The carmaker had announced that they will commence with the production of the car, soon, at their manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The initial models will be built at their workshop in Pune. The car is expected to launch this year and will be priced at around Rs 25-30 lakh. The Avanti will create a category in itself as it will be the first supercar produced in our country by an Indian manufacturer.

If ARAI is incorruptible and does a proper check I doubt the car will be allowed to be sold.
