Mahindra Electric Mobility, the electric vehicle (EV) arm of Mahindra Group, has launched the Treo electric three-wheeler auto-rickshaw in Maharashtra. Based on sales of L5 autos between April and October 2021, the Treo holds a segment-leading market share of 67 per cent in the electric auto category. Mahindra claims that compared to a regular CNG powered auto-rickshaw, the Treo can offer savings of up to ₹ 2 lakh over a period of 5 years, thanks to its low running cost of 50 paise per kilometre.
