Re: Upcoming Commercial Vehicles in India

Hi,

spotted these test mules almost 3 to 4 of them being tested on NH38 near Trichy. Its a left hand drive vehicle with no warning sign on it and fully draped in a bluish cover. Brand Ashok leyland and DAKAR DEM DIKK are the obvious things from visual. Seems some sort of testing for their Senegal public transport order. Had spotted around 3-4 mules all draped in the blue cover on the rear side with only the front accessible. All the test mules are not of same length and proportions, indicating different seating capacity and/or variants. Wonder where is the home base of these test mules. All the test vehicles had temporary registration with TN 18 series. Attaching the pictures below.

PS: Sorry for the not so good images.

These are export(To Africa or Sri-Lanka AFAIK) models I suppose, since being LHD and I usually see LHD vehicles being driven in Trichy - Chennai highway. Home base probably in salem unit as I usually spot them in Salem- Trichy state highway (Those white colored LHD buses to be specific)

finally after so many days we can see a multi axel rear engine powerful bus from country's biggest manufacturer.
All i can say better late than never. Dont know when the first commercial sale may happen, most optimistcally it may come 2017. wont be surprised if it is 2018. likes of scania came out of nothings and clocking decent sales. wonder when paradisio will hit the market.

Likes out of nothings with context to?

Down south, many people prefer travelling only over Scanias, Mercs and Volvos, so this paradiso should make them believe it's a real contender for those three giants.

Well what i meant to say, we knew the news of scania entering market and then they were here. the turn around time is not high.

Where as for paradiso, i have been seeing pictures right from 2013-14 and news quotes say paradiso launch around 2015. 2016 is coming to an end and stilll it is in testing phase. So from that context, Scania came out of nowhere and now getting sizeable numbers in the market too. Volvo and mercedes definitely feeling the scania heat.

Tata Motors To Launch India's First Heavy Duty Tipper Range at EXCON 2017

Tata Motors to launch country’s first Heavy Duty Tipper Range with ULTIMAAXTM suspension at EXCON 2017

Six new vehicles to be showcased from the Construck range

Bengaluru, December 11, 2017: Tata Motors, country’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer will display six new construction and mining commercial vehicles, from its Construck range at EXCON 2017, South East Asia’s largest construction equipment exhibition. Amongst the new product launches, Tata Motors will introduce first of its kind 4th generation ULTIMAAXTM suspension system for the HCV heavy-duty tipper range. The ULTIMAAXTM suspension has been developed jointly by Tata Motors Ltd., along with Hendrickson Inc, (a joint venture partner of TATA AUTOCOMP Ltd.,) a world leader in suspension systems for commercial vehicles.

The new range of vehicles to be showcased at EXCON 2017 include:

PRIMA LX 3130.K 19 CuaM scoop tipper, PRIMA LX 2525.K 16 CuM Box tipper with Ultimaax suspension, PRIMA LX 3125.K 23 CuM box tipper, SIGNA 3718.TK 24 CuM box tipper, SIGNA 2518.K 7 CuM Transit Mixer with Bogie suspension and SIGNA 4923.S 14X2 CuM sideways tip trailer.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Rajesh Kaul, Head, Sales and Marketing, Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors Ltd. said, “We at Tata Motors are delighted to showcase some of our new construction and mining vehicles for the first time at the EXCON 2017. This year, our focus is on Mining and Road construction industry as there is a positive movement in macro-economic indicators in these segments. The products on display will be equipped with globally renowned Cummins SCR technology, heavy duty ULTIMAAX Suspension System, factory fitted comfortable AC SIGNA cabins and light weight but stronger tipper bodies. We are also working on various aggregates like engines, axles and suspension systems to reduce maintenance costs and provide a long-lasting trouble-free operation. We will shortly introduce two of our new vehicles in the market, designed to offer maximum vehicle uptime and enhanced driver comfort at a lowest cost of ownership.”

ULTIMAAXTM Rear Suspension consists of heavy-duty beam with central pivot and combination of shear springs and progressive springs, which are the main load carrying components and are made of special proprietary rubber material. Progressive main springs carry greater portion of the load in vehicle. Its stiffness increases as the load increases without causing an abrupt change in ride characteristics, thereby providing a unique balance of empty ride quality and loaded stability. The use of rubber bushes in Front and Rear, eliminates the need for periodic lubrication, thereby ensuring total peace of mind and no need for periodic visit to workshop or using expensive chassis greasing system. The unique design provides long service life and easy replacement of rubber springs to reduce down time.

Key features- ULTIMAAXTM

• Higher payload of 250 kg.
• Advanced Severe-Duty Rubber Suspension
• Outstanding durability
• Ride comfort using Progressive Springs with roll stability.
• Maximize Mobility and Traction
• Low life cycle costs as lubrication is not required.
• Progressive rate springs provide long service life and are easy to replace
• Lower repair and replace time

Dr. A.K.Jindal, Head – Electric Vehicles & Defence Vehicles, Commercial Vehicle Engineering, Tata Motors said, “For the first time in India, heavy duty tipper applications have been developed with rubber bushings as against metal bushings used in the conventional suspension. This will reduce road shocks and improve driver comfort thereby enhancing productivity. Additionally, the Ultimaax suspension system will offer advantage of higher payload of approximately 250kgs due to low weight of the system over standard bogie suspension. Taking into consideration customer feedback and expectations, our teams worked extensively to tailor make this suspension suitable for the Indian off-road terrains. State of the art techniques were deployed during the development stage by collecting field data on loading conditions and the terrain of the vehicle.”

Tata Construck range consists of Tippers, Transit Mixers, Truck mounted Cranes & Concrete Boom Pumps, engineered to address tough conditions and endure heavy-duty cycles of the construction and mining industry, with higher productivity and profitability. Pioneers in product innovations, Tata Construck Tippers cater to the widest range of applications like road construction, irrigation, coal, iron ore, marble, stone mining, and bulk material handling at port, limestone, concrete mixture and municipal applications.

India Ranks 4th Globally in Passenger & Commercial Vehicle sales, is this a Boon or a Bane.
With the pollution(Sound and Air) increasing by the day, Traffic increasing by the day, commuting becoming difficult and cumbersome by the day, where are we heading in coming years?
