Thats a good news. I would love to see this legendary beauty on indian roads. And since it will come with a premium price tag, it may not sell in good numbers.

Hey dude, you got it all wrong.
Camaro has a price tag of 25000$ in USA
25000$=1250000
Add to that 120% tax and you have got a price tag of Rs. 2,750,000.

Corvette
58000 $
Add 120% tax and you get a price tag of Rs. 6,380,000

Now thats expensive, isnt it?

And Evo is coming for 35 lakh, so RIP Camaro.
no! but dont you feel that camaro and evo are in different league? camro is sports coupe with excellent looks and evo is four door sedan with convential looks!

the EVO is a Rally winner.
Evo has wonderful dream-like handling.

EVO 0-60 mph = 3.5 secs
Camaro 0-60 mph = 4.7 secs

60 mph = 100 kmph

And the evo can seat 4 people.
What more would you want?

Would you buy a car just because it looks sporty and is a coupe even if it is a slouch?
Would you buy a reva coupe just because it looks fast?
Try to get over the looks and appreciate performance.
Remember the Zonda?

Look, people having that sort of money to spend on a sports car will surely have their own different tastes and preferences. The more "serious" driving enthusiasts will like the EVO X with its rocket-sled performance and great handling to go with the practicality of four-doors and a boot. The Camaro is the car for the more flashy kind of a person, who likes to flaunt his stuff. Who likes to make a statement. Who wants everyone to know that "HE" has arrived. In style. The Camaro can never ever match the EVO X for sheer driving fun, but then the EVO X won't offer that sports-coupe feel or that "style" quotient either. Right? [:)]

Re: Chevy Corvette & Camaro to debut in India, Err..but Price?

hey guys rumors are going on that Chevrolet camaro might be coming in india at just Rs.35 lakhs!! [shock] am starting up to save some money!

Internationally the Camaro is available in LS and LT models, powered by a 3.6 L V6 producing 312 horses, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic with manual shift. The there is the special SS version which is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 producing 426 hp and is mated to a 6-speed manual box.

35 Lakh.
Not possible.

Nissan 370 Z costs 50 lakh, and you expect a camaro at 35? [lol]

Even at 30 lakhs as a CBU, the camaro will attract more customers for its power/looks and appeal it has!

While manufacturing the car in India seems an impossible option considering the numbers it will sell, a CKD option will be more viable/practical.

It attracts nearly 60% tax and the car can be still sold for say 22 - 25 lakhs which makes the deal more attractive!
