Petrolheads rejoice! Burman borthers of Dabur have announced their plans of launching Caterham brand in India. Caterham is a UK automobile manufacturer which is much famous for producing its lightweight sports cars. The company will their model during the inaugural of Indian Grand Prix. Apart from it, the company is also planning to start up a racing academy at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida. This makes for the announcement of second racing academy after Mercedes Benz.

The much overhyped car finally comes to India. Not worth the money. I'd rather spend the money on a Merc C Class / BMW 3 Series / Audi A4.

They are typical enthusiast's cars which are targeted towards a niche segment. Just opposite to everyday cars we have in India. Sure, it costs a bomb but those who can afford to own one just for their interest will still buy it.

Thats a huge variation.
no but their line up also varies a lot from the normal Caterham which has some 250-300 HP and the RS500 which is the hardcore version with 450-500 HP. even ariel atom has a lot variation for normal version and the supercharged version.

Peter, those are different category of cars.

You cant compare a Z4 and a 5 series, leave alone a Caterham and an A4
