@ 350Z: its only the bolero, not including the pick up.
Okay.
Bolero is still doing very good.
I earlier thought that Xylo's launch will make a dent in the sales of its sibling, Do you have figures only of "Tata Sumo", Excluding Grande.

Record 25K cars delivered on Dhanteras

Record 25K cars delivered on Dhanteras
The recession period has been over in India. Yes, it was proved on this Dhanteras when automobile industry registered a record selling of cars in a day.

According to a report, over 25 thousands cars were delivered by the leading car manufacturers on Dhanteras in India. It was the highest ever booking of cars in a day.

Maruti Suzuki recorded highest number of sale with over 8,000 cars in a day.

It was the highest sell in a day by the country's leading small car manufacturer.

Consumers moved out with full fervour and enthusiasm to beat the all speculations regarding recession on this Diwali.

Demand for cars was so high that dealers could not make deliveries to many customers on the same day. Actually small cars are an opportunity for middle class to display wealth in the festival season. On the occasion of Dhanteras, an auspicious day on the Hindu calendar two days ahead of Diwali, it becomes more significant to bring new vehicle in the house.

The unexpected delivery of cars has also shown impact on BSE and its sensitive index were reportedly trading in green zone.

Happy Diwali!!!

Sales Pick-up for Pre-Owned Cars

Second hand auto market in India is rejoicing again. Second hand car dealers have seen a robust demand in the market for pre-owned cars in past 9 months. With the fear of recession taking a back seat, financers and banks have also relaxed their financing norms and are readily offering finance to salaried and self-employed.

There’s been no adverse impact on sale of pre-owned cars sold through Maruti True Value. In the first quarter, Maruti True Value pre-owned car sales grew by 20% and in the second quarter, the momentum continued with sales in excess of 42,000 units, with growth accelerating to 34%,” said a Maruti spokesperson. Maruti owns True Value chain of retail outlets for its second-hand cars. Chevy OK is owned by General Motors that sells Chevrolet cars through its retail stores. There are currently 22 outlets which GM India intends to expand up to 30 by December 2009.

Second hand car dealers are optimistic about sales picking up in coming months and look forward to doing better business than last year. “Sales have really picked up from the first week of September. Growth is coming mainly in the small car category,” said a Chennai-based pre-owned car dealer.

October to Spell Out ‘Highest Sales Figures Month’ for Auto Companies

Nearly all auto manufactures in India are expected to post their highest sales in the current year in the month of October. Car sales have jumped more than 30 percent in October 2009 as compared to the same month last year. Customer sentiments are strong in the market and October sales are expected to surpass the September 2009 figures as well which was 1.67 lakh passenger vehicles last month.

There had been a strong demand in the market during the festive season in October and inventories have not only depleted but there is a waiting period of 20 days to 4 months on various models from different auto manufacturers. Maruti Suzuki India Limited sells every second car in the country. It expects a net jump of at least 25 percent over October 2008 sales figures. “We shall definitely cross the 25% growth mark this month. Despite production constraints, affected by some labour issues at few of our vendors, we expect handsome gain in sales,” said Maruti chief general manager (marketing) Shashank Srivastava.

Auto industry in India also expects better performance figures for 2009-2010 as bank have also reduced their interest rates. The government had also revised tax reliefs on small cars apart from availability of easy finance schemes. “It was one of the most timely steps that revived demand and customer sentiment,” said Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers’ (SIAM) director general Dilip Chenoy. As the sales remain robust in India, demand is expected to grow further supported by strong customer sentiments.

Well, thats a fall from the month of September'09 for Fiat I guess. Looks like Linea is getting some serious competition. Will be interesting to see how GP and Linea fared in the 2,221 number.

Cheers,
Vroom
