so all the horror stories of TML ASS is just rumours????
Infact NO
There are some service centres which creates problems with customer but now TASS is improving a lot. Whereas since the induction of Liva and Etios Toyota is facing heat from customer.
I hope now people understand what i mean from my post while mentioning Tata is Improving and Toyota is on delcine in terms of Customer satisfaction.

The survey is done on four parameters: 1. service initiation, 2. service advisor, 3. service facility, 4. vehicle pick-up and 5. service quality!

While first 4 parameters can be said objective, I doubt the 5th parameter 'service quality' can ever be objective. I wonder what kind of questions would they have included in the 5th parameter. On top of that it carries highest weight too. I think this is where these so called renowned surveys have high scope of manipulation .
Number game or some other game, but definitely something hidden from public.

Honda has sold 1,442 units of its flagship sedan City and 2,286 units of its small car Brio.
It has also sold 365 units of the premium hatchback Jazz, 70 units of sedan Civic and 79 units of the premium sedan Accord. Exports stood at 422 units last month.
General Motors India has posted a 21.82 per cent decline in sales at 7,067 units in December 2012.
Mahindra & Mahindra sold 45,297 vehicles in December, a 6 per cent increase from 42,761 units sold during the same month a year ago.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today reported 2.48 per cent fall in total sales at 47,833 units in December 2012.
In the A2 segment (Eon, Santro, i10 and i20), the company sold 41,069 units, while sales in the A3 segment (Accent and Verna) stood at 6,270 units in December 2012.
The company sold 46 units of the sports utility vehicle Santa Fe during the month. Sales of luxury sedan Sonata stood at 20 units, while Elantra witnessed 428 purchases.

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 95,145 units in December 2012, a growth of 3.2 per cent over December 2011. This includes 13,072 units for export. The Company had sold a total of 92,161 units in December 2011.

Linea and Punto's sale is not a surprise for me.

GM numbers are dismal. Beat figures are falling and the Sail UVA numbers are lower than what they were in November'12. Very bad for a recently launched car.
Figo numbers are also down considering it just had a facelift. Probably the discounts schemes are not working as they have been (in real terms) the same from last September.
Also probably people have started making distinction between discounts and benefits, since in most cases actual discounts are nothing but inflated insurance amount + corporate discounts. Rest are accessories that you could get at 1/3rd the price in outside shops. Fail to understand why auto companies raise the price and at the same time offer discounts. Also the logic is queer, since they cite inflation and $ conversion rate as the reason, the latter fortunately have been strengthening in the last couple of months.
2013 would be tough specially if the government really implements the staggered increase in diesel prices.

Ertiga, Swift Dzire earn more cash for Maruti
Maruti Suzuki Ltd, India's largest car maker said higher margins from sales of its Ertiga SUV and Swift Dzire sedan helped it double profits during the three months to December. It also cut costs. The company said it sold 27% more cars from October to December due to the launch of its new small car Maruti Alto 800.
This is the first substantial increase in profits in one and half years for Maruti. Profits were Rs 501 crore as against Rs 205 crore during the same period in 2011. Sales for the quarter stood at Rs 10,960 crore.While domestic vehicle sales were reported at 2.6 lakh units, exports stood at 32,496 units. Sales volume stood at 3,01,453 units during the quarter as compared to 2,39,528 units in the corresponding period of previous year, it said in a statement.

At 1500 sold in Jan 2013 the little nano seems to be in mild hibernation. I do hope with the hike in diesel and the ? arrival of the CNG version things will turn around
Perhaps a different marketing strategy-target college kids-exchange bikes for a nano and a loan for the rest? Make the base version-no frills actually 1 lakh on the road?
