Can oem double din stereo be replaced with any double din car stereo

i intend to replace my oem double din car stereo in indica vista with jvc/pioneer double din do i need to purchase a fresh dashboard trim or are all double din stereos same size so that it suits the same casing. i heard that casing for swift/i20 etc are easily available but not that easily for indian cars like tata s

usually the din sizes are as per international ISO standards but still we see deviations in the din sizes. Like, etios's size is not a standard size and I had to use scosche side adaptors to fit pioneer 2390 in that slot. Check with TATA to see if Vista din size is ISO size then you can fit ant 2-din in that slot without adaptors else you'll need one.

Since it is a DIN2, so yes, you can replace it with any din2

No buddy , wrong. The size of the DIN varies with different cars. In my Verna , the JVC 2-DIN din't fit exactly in the gap , yet to find a solution to cover all the gaps.
