Alternator upgrade is the next big budget upgrade for my car, ICE is strictly a no no for the present alternator & 100/90 bulb combination.

I feel sorry for my car, its spark plugs might be getting less power & it sometimes jerks while driving with headlights on.

Tried cleaning the blower fan, but couldn't remove that plug, cleaned it as much as possible & fitted it back. Smell from AC still continues to irritate.

Also got new horns - BOSCH SYMPHONY (Rs.560/-) a pair.
Fitted it directly and got a blown fuse, went to a electrician, he put a horn relay & some extra wires disconnected the old horns.

Awesome sound, louder than my expectation (Vento type [:D])

Good.. You could have got a better place to fix the horn..

Clean inner portion of the blower (cooling coil) it would be the cause of the smell..

Had a mini meet with Varun yesterday & also got the
  • Carburator cleaning done
  • Clutch adjustment
  • Rear drum cylinder adjustment
  • complete break recheck & removed sponginess
  • AC ducts cleaning + Blower + Cooling coil cleaning (VARUN THANKS A LOT)
  • Learnt few more things in my car
  • engine bay cleaned
  • Gear lever cut short (copied from varun's ride) - feels awesome now

Results
  1. Much better braking
  2. no need to press throttle while starting the car
  3. smoother drive - less vibrations too (even with ac)
  4. Previously during idling If I switch on AC it would just vibrate a lot & engine would switch off - now that issue is gone
  5. Made a fresh list of items to be purchased & installed in car :)

Here are a few pics

Thanks Varun,

Hi all, purchased some more parts for my sweet car.
Here goes the list with the cost

  1. Wiper Blades (Scew Type) - 220/-
  2. Wiper arm caps - 10/-
  3. Seat regulator for driver seat - 282/-
  4. Dashboard Polish (3M brand) - 107/-
  5. New spark plugs - NGK - 3Nos - 212/-
  6. SPark Plug Tool - 58/-
Total bill is 936/- including tax.

Here are the pictures
Seat Regulator (1).jpg
Seat Regulator (2).jpg
Currently the regulator on my driver seat is welded! Cant recline or do anything with it. Except sliding on the rails

NGK Spark plugs (1).jpg
There is misfiring some times in my car during cold start & even while driving fast, so thought it must be because of 1new & 2 old spark plugs.

NGK spark plugs, shop keeper insisted very much to buy this instead of BOSCH. Bought it, not sure if it if okay to use these. Saw lots of boards etc for NGK on J.C.Road so assumed it must be a good brand. Please share your opinion.

Spark plug tool (1).jpg
Spark plug tool (2).jpg
This one costs 58/- the one with the T spanner type costs more than 5 - 6 times of this cost. The same one with a longer rod costs 250! Anyway I wont use this much so bought this small tool.

Dashboard polish.jpg
I have Waxpol for exterior polish, bought this for polishing dashboard & other plastic items.

Wiper blades (2).jpg
Thought of buying M 800 Type 2 wiper arms with SKoda fabia wiper blades. But the shop keeper told me that I need to change the wiper motor & many other parts for this mod. SO dint want to take risk & just bough these crew type wipers.

Did the shop keeper lie to me? Please throw some light on this myth/fact.

Will fix the regulator first tomorrow morning & will update here soon.

Good Night everybody

Seat Regulator Fixed, took a lot of effort & time in doing this.
The seat sponge is torn in many places, especially the place where it sits on those springs below.
Car Seat (1).JPG

Car Seat (2).JPG
The seat has to be removed completely (Out of the car) to fix this. However I am not satisfied with the overall smoothness of this knob.

Are there look alike Recaro/ Sparco seats available in Bangalore? How much would it cost?

Got new steering wheel & Strut Brace for my car [cheers]

Here are the pics

Type 1 steering.JPG
The old steering (M800 Type1)

Final output.JPG
The New MGP Type 2 Steering wheel (Costing almost 750 with bill)

Auto cut off indicators (1).JPG
This is how it looks once the steering wheel is removed.

Auto cut off indicators (2).JPG
This is a close up of the auto cut off indicator mechanism

the needle type thing that does the auto cut off.JPG
The needle is the key thing for the auto cut off to work (I hope My guess is right)

the horn works.JPG
MGP BOX.JPG

DSCF6090.JPG
The type 2 steering is slightly thicker than the type 1. Both are of the same size (radius) The horn pad has 4 points of contact for the horn to work. Somewhat better than the 2 switch type 1 steering.

Anyways I love both :)

Hi Jarpickle,

thanks a lot for the time & effort you put, Sure will drive safe. I really love the paint finish given on the brace. Matt Blue is really looking good. Have you posted picture of your car's brace? just curious to see.

I am not sure if I have fit the nuts properly, just see these pics & let me know
Cc: Varun - I spoilt an OEM Nut & used what ever I had as a replacement.
