for home use projectors are not worth.
they require a AC hall or room.
they are good power consumer equal to AC.
which we came across in our uncles house.

Rajvel, I dont know what logic made you say that. My hometheatre is a 150 inch screen projected by the projector made by myself; a full DIY.And it consumes mere 250 watts i.e power of just two TV
If one wants to enjoy great video then go for biggest screen possible.
3ace,i recommend some monthly magazines like "what hifi" or "Av max" for latest gadget reviews.

oh,not a big deal for me, Iam an allround DIYer plus electro-phile.

Ok here we go a brief one. An lcd monitor stripped . 2 fresnel lense,a projection lens and a 150 watt halogen lamp.

Picture resolution Depends on the quality of ur monitor mine is 1280x1200 HD . It costed me around 15-20k INR.btw a quality hd projector will cost 60k+INR i suppose

we have a projector in my uncles house for past 1 year but seen only 5 movies in it.
But using it for some slides seems to be good.

That's one awesome Home theater, I've seen one portable HD projector (about the side of Samsung Galaxy Y phone package box) was costing around 25-30k or maybe more, but its performance is good seen in personally.

Amazing work Jayadev
I saw cambridge audio on your screen so thought I may probe into your audio or hi-fi related interests. I am newbies in this and you are way far ahead me.
I have a stereo set up with marantz amp, marantz cdp, wharfedale FS, and musical fidelity V-DAC. Thinking about getting a tuner soon.
Anyways, best of luck for you DIYs in future too.
