One of the cool features of Sync 3 in Ford Ecosport, Freestyle, Aspire (mostly top version) is the ability to run mobile apps. Ford has used this feature to bring Amazon Alexa in Ford cars. I have been using it for the past 3 months and its a very good feature to have (especially since its free).
All you have to do is install the Ford+ Alexa app (available both for android and ios) in your phone and then sync it with the car. Run the app on the phone first, login to Alexa (using your Amazon id) and then go to Mobile apps in the ICE. Alexa icon will appear and you have to tap to start. Rest is operation as usual. Alexa would be in always listening mode and you can ask it any question depending on the skills configured. By default, it can answer General Knowledge questions, play songs /playlists etc. but not operate car internals (start car commands etc.).
On Android play store, the link is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ford.fordalexa&hl=en_IN, however you will have to download the apk separately and install it. You do not need to root your device.
