@Raj - I have heard Michelins have softer sidewall. I have not read or heard about Yokohama that much. Any particular tyre you can suggest from Yokohama (A-drive or C-drive).
Yes, Michelins are softer tyres but they are quiet & offer good grip.

Yokohama is the next best choice after Michelins. It is surprising that you have not heard about them. I would suggest C drives. My Scorpio & Innova has Yokohamas. After my Punto's stock tyres wear out, I will go for Yokohamas or Michelin only.

The above two are much better than JK, Goodyear, etc.

Re: Grande Punto Thread

I was thinking of not making such a vehicle specific thread. But since this already exists, why not use it to discuss our Puntos? I invite all Punters to join in & share experiences, pics, problems & solutions in this one-stop-for-all Punto thread.

Till now, I recollect the following Punters in TAI. If i have left someone, please add your name to the list-

raj_5004 = Punto 90 hp = Mumbai
dharmesh = Punto 75 hp = Mumbai
DriveNinn = Punto 90 hp (coming soon) = Mumbai
vroom = Punto 75 hp = Mumbai
Grandeur = Punto 75 hp = Mumbai
KinghtRiderGT500 = Punto 75 hp = Mumbai
JazzSelect = Punto 75 hp = Pune
Thetraveller = Punto 75 hp = Pune
jayadev = Punto 90 hp = Kerela
SOOZ_Punto = Punto 75 hp = Bangalore

Even in a small community like TAI, we have so many Punto owners, despite the car's low sales. This shows only car enthusiasts buy Puntos!

Welcome to the Punto Club!

One more addition to the club. This is growing at a faster rate [:)] Many many congratulations.

And guys do check out my owner ship report at:

One question to all:
Is it good to get the 3M Paint sealant done? I have a 3M shop next to my colony, and they have this option. I was wondering whether it is any good for a new car. I am not planning to get Teflon coating done right away.

One update:

Changed my OEM tyres JK Tornado 165/80 R14 with Michelin Energy XM1+ 185/70 R14

Place: Darshan Tyres, FC Road, Pune
Price: 4400 per tyre
Take back: 2300 per tyre
Changed all 5
Discount: Got a trolley bag

Darshan tyres are very good and efficient in their work. Everything was completed quickly

Changes: Road noise is reduced a lot. Handling is upped by a notch. Even breaking is affected in a positive way. The only negative I have heard Michelins is their softer sidewall and that they are susceptible to sidewall puncture. But hoping I can pull them through with out any problem

Well, to tell you frankly, I just could not wait. I booked the car in Mid-Nov but have decided about it since July. It was a tough thing to wait for the new year. I am satisfied with interior colors and what is being offered right now, so took the plunge [:)]

Sorry guys but I feel this thread is a bit misleading & becoming more like a thread with info on people here who own the Punto. Would be better if this thread is moved to Members Lounge
