So when it comes to seating 5 and that too for long trips the seats should be really comfortable and not cramped! In this point of view Swift is ruled out!

Take a look at Punto and Figo and decide finally! As its for long trips the main priorities should be safety , comfort , leg room and boot space! FE as its for long trips all the cars must be having pretty much identical figures!

My choice Punto if budget problem then Figo!!

try within new Figo from ford or Ritz from maruti, yes its rear design isnt too good to love, but inside its good with best plastics quality offered till now from maruti in their hatchbacks, better ride position and same DDiS engine.Ford has huge hopes and their future on figo which i am sure wont go wrong with them, best is to test drive it once, and check out spares prices at the dealers place to get the fair idea.

I contacted a sales person in ford and tata

Figures are not exact. Tomorrow i am going to each showroom

Figo base 4.47L
vista quadrajet base 4.28L

Accept i said no quadrajet from tata , but swift /ritz waiting time may be high

A small change now . My marina is planned to give in for exchange.
so this car will be driven by me.

Another hatch is to be bough but not now. So same car will not be repeated.

So simple rule in home here.

Which car is cheaper of the 3.
Who gives maximum value for the marina.

I dont look in the 20 to 30K price difference.

In figo , ford brand image , nice suspension . ford has better build quality over tata. But the maintenance is that matter me.

Maruti reliable and too has good build quality. But they take the marina at low price and waiting time is high.

This is on friendly tata

Cheaper of 3
fiat engine proved better by swift and reliable though
body quality is low compared to others .
Will take my marina at a good rate than the two.

Oh GOD , suddenly the indigo cs is being discussed in home!

Atleast i wana figo base

Go for a Figo base model finally! But just enquire in a nearby dealer what is the waiting period for Swift Ldi also , it may have reduced a little now!

Also another point is

Swift is already tried and tested in modification field.

So as a starter in this field i though i can experiment with a new face. so Figo fits my idea
so do a vista

Damn again a vista . I dont wana same car again . Pray for me

Reading through the posts, I feel you should get the RITZ. I don't have to tell you all the goodies about MSIL cars. I personally like the RITZ look. I have seen couple of modified RITZ and trust me they look just awesome. [thumbsup]

Maruti dealer closed here of corruption. so must travel some 20kms.

Went to ford and Tata today.

Ford figo
The on road price for the base is 4.80L
i can minus the essential pack . that cost 4500(mud flap , rubber mat and 3m paint protection)
About the car , the is solid. Good build.

Tata vista quadrajet

Vista quadrajet base terra model's on road price is 4.53L

In that the insuance amount of 14600 is made free.
so almost near 4.40L

I will prefer Figo over Vista. There is a difference of 40K as you have mentioned above. But considering the over all aspects, I strongly feel that Figo is the best bet.

Ford is trying hard for extending the reach and also keeping the spare parts competitive. You can ask for parts/accessories price from Ford.

I think, RSM is correct here. Get the spare parts and service cost lists from Ford and TATA. Then you will be in a better position to decide up on the trade-off.

Sorry guys , the plan is put on hold .

Tata quoting a price of 1.6L for my marina

ford called in a local dealer. I know him though he didn't recognize me. He came a year back to store to do a mis match work. Worst fellow. He asked my car for 1L in exchange.

Though the plan is in hold the td of figo(price of vista is good + there buy back of marina) was so good.

Solid build and 1.4 proven diesel engine.

Maintenance is 1 year of 10000kms interval.

But slightly sluggish compared to swift and vista quadrajet in lower rpm. You need to rev harder. Turbo lag , did i find that.
So those who come across this thread

Compared to Low priced diesel hatch , forget the indica/ vista tdi

Vista quadrajet is cheaper and next immediate is figo lxi diesel.
though vista quadra terra model is 23K cheaper (14K discount of vista not included) , the amount is justified for the build quality of the ford.

As my traveller plan is also in process , this is shifted to later months
