Advantages are endless. More bhp per cc,better acceleration (naturally aspirated vs naturally aspirated), lower emissions, MUCH BETTER NVH, lighter weight, less complex construction, freer revving, etc etc etc.....

you can add CNG in future with ^ above advantages.
yup, new diesel engines are also fine now days. but it will be always a debating point that which is better.
