Figo rear hub rust removal ( DIY )

Rear wheel wells were super dirty. Today when I removed the rear right tyre, I found that the tyre simply refused to come out. I started hammering the wheel, but no result. I used lots of WD40 on the hub side ,again no result.
After using jack and tyre lever, somehow, I removed the tyre, only to find heavy rusting of the wheel hub. This rust damage is because of the water seepage behind the wheels which were never ever removed/opened for a decade !!.
I have decided to:
1) remove the rust by sanding
2) clean the area
3) paint the clean hub.

Extent of the problem:
Even after drenching the hub with oil, tyre got stuck very badly with the hub, refusing to come out after hammering. Finger got cut because of rough surface.

Pics speak for themselves.

Since it looked to be surface rust, I started cleaning it. After thoroughly washing off the dust and oil and grime.

After sanding using coarse sandpaper

Dust and grime removed, but more sanding required

Doctor sir is having a serious surgery these days eh!
My tip for such harsh rust is, wipe with kerosene. Keep it for 4-5 hours, then sand it. The rust will peel off easily. Then apply a base primer (Rust protection, that we do for household metal grills, gates). Then you can go for painting if needed. Primer actually gives a grey shade, which itself lasts good, but not sure about how far it is durable with the heat.

Thank you for your tip. Yes ,you are correct. I have already put the primer and painting is done. I will be posting the result very soon.

Today evening car engine was very hot and AC was cutting off again and again. On opening the hood found the coolant boiling. After 1 hr when it cooled down, I opened the coolant cap, and there I found that in place of coolant only very dilute coloured water is present. I mean its consistency was just like plain water.
I went through the entire service history of past 11 years and I could not find a single mention about coolant change. This means only one thing. Coolant has never-ever been changed in past 11 years !!
Car is running on the same coolant filled from the factory 11 years ago !!
I supposed all these years it was only topped up with water.

Do a coolant flush (Empty the radiator can, clean it well, I am sure it will have muck, then add coolant). I think Ford uses the Orange one, and it also follows 1:1, Coolant:Water.
My preferred base coat primer always is MRF(It is costly but works great): It comes as 2 cans, one having the solvent, another the thick primer.
I painted Activa's guard with it, then used Dulux Black Gloss paint.

I agree to what you are saying. Problem is this MRF paint is not available in my area.

I have withdrawn coolant (by tube and syringe ) in a bottle, as a sample to search in the market. It is not orange. It is of pink colour.

Have a look

It was orange and might have turned pink due to age and/or dilution. This is the OE spec for Fiesta > ORANGE CONCENTRATED ANTIFREEZE/COOLANT.

Ford recommended interval was 5 year or 1,00,000 km.

Yes, your hypothesis looks logical.
Surprising thing is today when I went to ASS ,they are filling green coolant in all vehicles. Maybe late batches need green. But its life is not long. There was one more 2013 Figo there. Its bonnet was open. Its coolant was
also pink !! They were about to change it to green ! How about that ? Needless to say I ran away from there and came back home.
I have searched all over the shops. Nobody has any stock of orange coolant.
I am searching for a very long life ethylene glycol based coolant which removes the hassle of changing every 2 years.

Check with Toyota dealer. They have Elf LLC. @Auto_Psycho used it on his Beat if I remember right.
