Niche sportscar maker Mulholland Automotive has unveiled its new Legend 480 – a sports car it says will be a “true successor” for the “TVR recipe for the 21st century”.
The British-built two-seater Legend 480 takes its name from the 480hp (358kW) V8 engine that sits up front which sends power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
"The Legend 480 follows the blueprint of the classic British sportscar; front engined, rear-wheeled drive, manual transmission, two-seater coupe engineered to be lightweight and yet beautifully and stylishly designed & sculptured," Mulholland said in a statement.
While aspiration, displacement, torque and performance figures are not listed, the Legend 480 should have impressive performance thanks to a “super-lightweight” carbon fibre body – styled by English sports car maker TVR’s ex-design chief Damian McTagget.
The Legend 480 should go head-to-head with TVR's heavily-delayed Griffith sportscar that features a 373kW Ford V8, manual transmission and 1250kg weight thanks to carbon-fibre, steel, and aluminium construction.
