Today marks the 50th anniversary of first manned flight.On April 12th ,1961 Yuri Gagarin in his space capsule Vostok 1, was blasted from Baikonour in Kazakhstan aboard R7 rocket creating history as he orbited earth and landed safely and subsequently paving the way for landing in the moon in 1969.

congrats! i got to know about it thru google yesterday :tongue: btw read about yuri gagrin and sad to know he died so early when was only 34..

@Umang - He lost control of MIG 15 during routine training exercise.The MIG 15 like its great grandson MIG 21 is very difficult to Pilot but was one of the best Fighter plane of Korean War.See the parody[confused].
There is lot of information behind the first Flight which many people don't know like how Gagarin landed and how Americans missed the opportunity to send first man in space.As they say there is a countless stories behind every Great story.
