October/November 2019: Registration and First Service

Booked the same number as Polo. We waited for almost a month for the number slot to open up. Tried booking ourselves, but later on commissioned the dealer since dealer promised to do the whole process including pickup and drop for inspection. ₹ 3,500.00 for number booking + dealer's commission for getting it done.

First service was supposedly at 2500 km or 3 months, but we crossed that mark in 2 months' time and actually surpassed by a couple of 100 kms and dealer never had issue with since it was just inspection only. Bill amount was ₹ 0.

HSRP installed by the dealer during the service.

November 2019: Seat Covers.

Got seat covers installed from dealer during the first service. Our pesky kids turned the interiors chocolate brown in no time. Chose the least funky option available. They had different stitch colors for all shades. Chose white over brown. Paid ₹ 7,000.00

Not meant for ones with seat airbags.

EcoSport embroidered. Seems the machine won't stop when transitioning between letters, which was a bit sore on close look.

Hexagon pattern.

Rear bench.

Got rear seat pockets, but smaller than OEM. Headrest finish is superb, but the rear side could have been better. Fit is good, but small wrinkles at places, which would stretch over time.

Mounts on roof rails for fitting cross bars or can be used as hooking points.

Spread of fog lamps without headlight. Surprisingly good.

Fog plus low beam.

Bought Areon Ken Black Crystal from Amazon. Black Ice and Bubble Gum were my favorite, but not available.

September - October 2020: Update

Car turns one. Nothing much to update about. First party insurance renewed. Yet to receive policy document, will update the figures shortly after that. Clocked somewhere between 12 and 13k km. Usage limited to city only.

First puncture. Air was leaking real slow, so didn't notice till it has become a repeating incident. Small hole, took it to puncture shop instead of usual DIY as piercing was very hard.

October 2020 - Another puncture within a month

As mentioned in Beat thread, I still find not-to-be-supposed-on-road-foreign-bodies in my compound and vicinity.

This one also small nail.

2020-10-29 17-23-21.jpg

Weapons of mass destruction.

2020-10-29 17-48-37.jpg

Drill is better than the piercing tool, especially on harder tyres. 7-8 mm bit would work fine.

2020-10-29 17-49-56.jpg

Nose pliers when the nail is deep inside threads.

2020-10-29 18-06-05.jpg

Heavy-duty knife to cut the excess.

2020-10-29 18-06-23.jpg

Perks of having had a VW. Lots of good quality spray bottles.

2020-10-29 18-06-48.jpg

Done. Front RH tyre always takes the brunt. Running low made it wear faster.

April-July 2021 - Misc Updates

The request sensor mystery.

2021-04-17 15-59-56.JPG

Forgot to mention before, can also be locked by touching it. Holding the handle unlocks the door.

2021-04-17 16-00-01.JPG

Both front doors got them.

2021-04-17 16-00-19.JPG

Boot can be opened similarly. Coming to the mystery, lately started noticing posts mentioning accidentally locking key inside while loading the boot, so decided to give it a try. Locked the car, opened the boot, kept key inside and "accidentally" banged it close and voilà, car unlocked automatically [lol]

Helping juice up Skids during lockdown.

2021-06-17 18-41-53.jpg

It was pretty hard to find a spot to plug the positive terminal.

2021-06-17 18-44-05.jpg

My best investment in the recent time.

2021-06-17 18-46-47.jpg

SVC replaced wipers at last service. They were Motorcraft branded aka Ford's Mobis. No other branding anywhere, possibly Syndicate or Bosch.

2021-07-12 12-33-48.jpg

Wiper intermittent delay adjuster. Noticed it can be operated from both side. Nice touch.

Renewed with Liberty General, just standalone nil depreciation own damage policy. We have one more year of third-party coverage left. Done by Harry Ford. Due to hectic and busy schedule, missed the renewal by two days. They did a video evaluation because of this and NCB is retained. Had a couple of dents and claiming them would be solely at their mercy.

Breakup
Basic Premium - ₹ 6685
Nil Depreciation Add-On - ₹ 4489
No Claim Bonus - ₹1672
GST - ₹892 x 2
Net Premium - ₹ 11686

Your EcoSport Is Nice And Looks SICK With The OEM Accessories You Put On It, Why Don't You Try Remapping Your EcoSport By Some 20BHP And Also Try Upgrading The Stock Air Filter To A Performance Air Filter To Get That Vroooom When You Accelerate. Kinda Sad That Ford Shut Shop In India, Despite The Fact That I Am Not A Ford Owner I Still Kinda Like Ford

Thanks. Car belongs to my sister and BIL and they don't wanna shell 20-30k for performance. Te(a)sted Code 6'd EcoSport and love them. Ford leaving was sad, but expected.
