We could see a 118-bhp 1.6 multijet engine on the Linea and probably even the 120-bhp T-jet 1.4-litre petrol engine at the upcoming Auto Expo. Fiat will share its stall with Tata Motors. We can expect some other Fiat owned brands like Alfa Romeo and Maserati along with Fiat Bravo could be a part of this stand.

Toyota Kirloskar motors is all set to unveil their new small car for the Indian market at the upcoming Auto Expo in New Delhi which starts from 4th of January 2010.

“Both hatchback and sedan version of concept vehicle of the compact car will be showcased at Auto Expo”, said TKM Deputy Managing Director Sandeep Singh.

The car will be one amongst a total of 14 production and concept models that will be displayed at the Toyota stall. The small car codenamed EFC (Entry Family Car) will be launched in the Indian market by late 2010 and will be built at Toyota’s brand new second plant in India which will be ready by December 2010.

This is a very important car for the japanese maker if it were to achieve its aim of becoming one the largest selling brand in the Indian automobile industry by 2012. Toyota currently has 93 dealerships in India which will be increased to 150 by the time EFC goes on sale.

Toyota is facing heat from competitors, It seems. That's why they plan to enter the hatchback segment in market. This car looks like a small MPV, Good to know that Indians will have a wide range of hatchbacks to choose from by end 2010.
