BHANDARDARA: MAGNIFICIENT,RAVISHING,BLISSFULL(in the Rains)
With the festive season around the corner and kids long vacations started, I just decided for a 1 day picnic near Mumbai.

After doing some R&D online shortlisted Bhandardara. I have been to Bhandardara a few years back in the month of Feb. But visiting this place in the monsoons are a must do thing if you are around Mumbai. The place completely transforms into a heavenly beauty in monsoons.
The route was from Mumbai to Bhandardara via Ghoti . Started the journey at 5.30am to avoid the heavy traffic near Bhiwandi toll, but still got stuck for 20 mins in the traffic. The Mum -Nashik roads were super smooth with occasional potholes and rumblers near every village, and crossed the Kasara ghats in no time. The drive on the ghats was effortless with the Baleno. After taking the right onto the the Ghoti-Bhandardara road, the road transforms completely into a single and potholed road. The road condition is little bad and you wont be able to maintain any speed on roads like these. But the beautiful panaromic scenery makes up for the road conditions. Reached Wanderlust resort for breakfast at 9.50am.

After a good breakfast went for Boating in the dam. The Dam was full to the brim with a few inches left to overflow. With cloudy weather the view while boating was mesmerising.
After boating headed to Umbrella falls. This point is just below the boating point and you can take the stairs to the base or by road to the entrance of the garden(by road is a better option with elders and kids). The falls are seasonal and starts only on Sat/Sun when the management releases the water from the dam between 11am to 2pm.Walking a small trail reached close to the falls with cool water from the falls sprinkling on my face.
After spending a lot of time on the stream, below the falls, went to Randha falls.
Its just 10 kms from Umbrella falls but took around 35 mins to reach there. Sufficient parking available at this point. The point has got 2 falls with viewing decks at every fall. Very well maintained and designed point in Bhandardara. Again spent a lot of time on the riverside enjoying and soaking the beauty around.

After a late lunch at Anandvan resort left BHANDARDARA by 5pm. Reached home by 9.40pm
