Thank you, The carrier definitely increases the luggage space & we 6 could sit comfortably all these 5000 km was because that, . Regarding the carrier sliding forward, since my garage height is very low I had decided that I will dismantle it once I come back (to be used later on again) so it was not a permanent fix by the mechanic as he probably didn't tighten the bolts too very tightly which led to the mishap. Later on I fixed it at agra & still to be on the safer side that it does not slide forward We tied it from back at the Stepni tyre holder below the boot. This time the mechanic says the fix will be proper like all other times & I will have no problems. ( I checked my garage height luckily the night we returned & without the load it just about eased into the slot, Lucky Me), as such there are plenty of cars running around with an overhead carrier, I see no issues with that, we were a bit unlucky this time that's all.. The carrier & luggage did not cause any hindrance at all to my driving, having said that once I take it to the hills I don't think I will overload it on top & rather carry a few items inside the boot to keep the center of Gravity Low. Hope this helps you.
