Another long trip in my Superman - Baleno.
As it was a long weekend for Vijaya Dasahami, this time we planned a family trip to Nanded. its been a while I visited this place as my grandparents used to stay here, since they passed away I didn't had chance to visit this place again.
Total distance shown in Google map was 824 kms from Bangalore to Nanded and as per MID it was 872 km
Route taken NH 7 and SH44 - Bangalore - Anathpur - Kurnool - ORR - Nizamabad - Bidar - Narsi - Nanded
Total time taken - 13 hr 30 mins including breaks for about 1.30 hrs
its a uneventful journey until Nehru ORR, post that you get Traffic.
Best Leg - complete NH7 and ORR
Worst Leg - somewhere between Basar and Bidar.
Advise - Don't take Basar route, around 40 kms road is really bad and full of potholes, unless you have a 4WD.
we started at 5.00 am from HMT Layout Bangalore and took ORR from Bangalore and on time crossed the Hebbal traffic and reached Anathpur by 7.00 am. Worst part is there is not even a single good dhaba or food joint,
Untill you reach Ghar Dhaba which is around 20 kms after Kurnool. you will get clean restroom and good quality food.
Roads till Nizambad are excellent and you can easily do 120+ kmph, post that once you enter Maharashtra, roads are still good and well maintained, only thing is you get too many small villages where you see livestock around the highway so you need to keep the speed in control.
Here few click taken in the morning while coming back to Bangalore, somewhere in between Narsi - Nizambad highway.
Complete Toll paid Rs 1822 both ways. In Maharashtra we didn't have to pay toll as it was free for Private cars. you will see a separate lane marked free pass for Private vehicles.
Must say because of the excellent road conditions and ample space in Car to stretch our legs, the journey was just fresh and none of us were tired. The car was planted at 120 plus and in few stretches I touched 140 and it was just breeze driving Baleno
