Okay it all started with the word “lets go somewhere” and then the planning began. Kanha National Park was a trip we always wanted to cover but some or the other reason it was always dropped, so finally we settled for it and the booking of hotels was done. The safari tickets were ofcourse booked online much before we started booking our hotels. Please make sure that you book your safari tickets before you plan out your journey as it is impossible to get the tickets on the spot.

The day ! We were unable to sleep due to our excitement. We had an early dinner and slept by 8pm hoping to start the journey very early morning by 1:30am. The most difficult night passed and we were awake by 12:30am and out of our home by 1:20am. The day 1 drive was from Bangalore to Nagpur covering a total distance of 1123 . The route map was fairly simple, Bangalore - Hyderabad - Nagpur.

We reached Nagpur by 6:30pm and halted for the night.

Our Day2 drive was from Nagpur to Kanha and it was a short drive so we started relaxly and started by 11am. The drive was really green where you drive through forest, roads were good with few uneven patches.

So finally we were in Kanha. The weather was pleasant and we chose to stay in Chitvan Jungle Lodge, Kanha. The resort is very close to the Mukki Gate where our safari entrance was booked.

Day 3 The day we waited for so long. We got up by 4am and got ready for the safari our Gypsy was arranged by the hotel and they were very generous to pack our breakfast for our safari. We booked for Kanha Zone and later we were told by our guide that Mukki Zone stands number 1 zone in tiger sightings, this made our face little dull thinking we wont be able to see the most important thing of our trip. As our journey and clicking continues….

On our way back we saw many pug marks and were stopping many times to hear any distress call by monkeys or deers. Time passed and suddenly our guide smelled the spray by tigers and baaaam a male tiger was resting just below a small drain bridge and our gypsy was just on top of it. The moment our driver started the engine the tiger jumped out of the bridge with a raor. Man that was really scary !. The driver quickly switched off the engine and then he went back to his resting place we waited for about 10mins for him to come out. Then suddenly the female tiger appeared from nowhere and that was when all shot took place.

This what made the trip a fulfilling one and finally there was a big smile in our faces. This is us with happy faces.

On day3 we started our journey back home with all the memories of Kanha. Am sure we will make the trip again.

Our drive was very comfortable and the vehicle gave an average of about 15.9. The top speed of our journey was 100kmph.

That is some distance you covered in one day. But then the roads are beautiful and inviting. I had done Hyderabad from Kerala in one day a couple of months back and thought of driving up further to these National parks. But couldn't make it due to time constraints.

Nice set of snaps there. Do come back here with more Logs as you keep munching more miles on your cheetah [:)]

Those are some pretty beautiful images and nice work with the camera.

And driving cheetah on highways is always a fun.

Post more pics if you have.

The roads were indeed very relaxing. All I had to do push the cruise button and the vehicle was on its constant speed for more than 45mins, there was hardly any traffic ! Infact in our next trip I am confident that I can drive upto Kanha without taking a night break in Nagpur.
