V (Vellore) To V (Valparai) in V (Vista VX): An Unplanned Trip

Hi guys,

I'm back with my recent trip to Valapari.

First I need to thank Mr.Highway Ranger for guiding me throughout the trip.

Here you Go..[;)]

Actual Plan:(Call it as Plan A[lol])
We Chennai guys planned a Trip to Wayanad on Oct 2. So we guys stayed at Ajay's home(Chennai) on Oct 1st night and decided to start in the morning. But, one of our friend's Aunt passed away, so we had to drop our plan.

Plan B:
For an IT employee, getting continuous leaves are very difficult. But I had three days leave in hand and I'm not a guy, who sit ideal at home for continuous 3 days.So, Immediately started to think about plan B. Due to long weekend, most of the hill stations will be crowded and getting rooms would be difficult. so I was confused in planning my trip. Immediately HR came in mind. He used to say that, he have a friend in Valparai and he already asked me to visit Valapari and Adirampalli. without any delay immediately called HR and requested him to check the availability of rooms at Valparai through his friend.

He called to his friend and booked a room for me at Valparai :)

Then why should I wait ?? I called to my parents and said that I'm on the way to Vellore from Chennai and asked them to get ready for the trip.

I reached home at Vellore around 10am. Due to Ayudha pooja, we started our trip after completing the pooja for our Rides.

Started from home around 12pm, had lunch somewhere at Salem. Around 5:30pm stopped between Coimbatore and Pollachi for Tea break and reached Valpari around 7pm.

The Night was not too cold, but nice weather.

Had Dinner in room itself and slept around 10pm.

Oct 3, 2014:

We woke up around 7am, this is what we saw from our Balcony.

Within 2 hours after reaching Vellore from Chennai you were ready for the long drive to the hills. Great[:)]

Actually, I had taken my Vista to Chennai for Wayanad trip. Once it got cancelled, I came to home in Vista from Chennai to Vellore to pick my parents and continued the trip to Valparai[;)]

Continuation..

After the Brisk walk and refreshing bath, we reached the room and had our breakfast there.

Around 9:30am, we headed to Chinna Kallar falls.

En-route to Chinnakallar falls is filled with Tea plantations, scenic views with wonderful climate.

once we came out from the town, we found koolangal river on the right. People were busy in playing with water. the river is filled with koolangal stones, hence called it as koolangal river.

The curvey Narrow roads, wonderful weather and grreny surroundings, made the drive pleasant and peaceful.

there is a checkpost and we need to pay for car and persons(Forgot the amount which we paid)

Chinnakallar is some 15kms away from valparai and the road for some 8kms near Chinnakallar is in bad shape.

Chinnakallar Falls is some 1.5kms away from the parking area.

And the way we walk towards the falls looks like dense forest area surrounded by mountains.

After spending some 1hr at Chinnakalar falls, we headed to Chinna Nirar dam which is the same route to Valparai and also visited Nirar dam[:)]

When we was heading to Valparai town for Lunch, there was a sudden change in climate and the clouds started the drizzle. That made the place more scenic and pleasant.

Had Lunch somewhere in Valparai and headed to Nallamudi-Pooncholai(Valley view)

As usual, the roads were scenic and wonderful.

By the time we reached Pooncholai, the Fog fully covered the area and a rain made the environment so special.But, Again, we need to walk for 1kms in Tea estate to reach the valley point.

Nice Travelogue and written well. You guys always encourage me for some trips with my family. Yes, i am also planning for a trip to Ooty during the next weekend.
Already book the room for two days. Just like my earlier trip to Kodai, i simply want to enjoy the trip.
My only concern is that some info say that till the month of February, the temperature drops considerably low in Ooty and my younger son is just 9 month...
Any way will update TAI after my trip
