But thanks to the internet, before going to any place I prepare a quick pdf from wiki about the place and then read it before I go that way I know what all to look for. Generally guides in India have their own made up stories to make things interesting.
I have been to Delhi and Agra couple of years back and really enjoyed. There are lot of places around.
At Vrindavan thought I had the most excruciating experience, where those local priests or holy man stop your car and try to 'Assist' you and totally keep chasing you everywhere. I have made up my mind never to visit Vrindavan again.
Infact this is a good idea, next time when i go somewhere historical, i will try this pdf trick.
Even i was chased by many holy man one by one and other touts claiming to help you get VIP darshan, I always shoo'd them by saying a firm NO and not even looking at them.
Inside the Bankey Bihari temple, owing to the conjusted space, many touts would approach you and saying that they will take you through the VIP door. I didnt even look at them and without any help we had such a great experience. The priests inside were really humble.
